This room finally feels and looks how I felt it always should. I spent over a year planning this project to make sure we got it absolutely right, constantly researching old English farmhouses, servants sculleries and every book on country interiors I could get my hands on to create a kitchen as authentic as possible. So simple yet so many details to think about! I’m excited to continue to add little special finds to make it really feel like home.

Bizarrely, this was pretty much the only room in the house I knew exactly how I wanted to look as soon as we moved in. Although not the most important room of the house, it is potentially one of the most used and so I wanted it to be a comfortable and warm space for us and our guests.
We really want to rough this house back up and make it feel like the cosy, country home it is.
We added panelling, swapped the flooring out for a wooden floorboard for warmth and painted the entire room, ceiling and all, in ‘Cobble’. I hope you all like it and I can’t wait to get stuck into the next project.

We are finally in. 5 months after putting our house on the market, another house purchase falling through and multiple other stumbling blocks along the way, we have our home and, boy, is it a beauty 🍂
An old farmhouse back in the day, this house has so much character it is beyond belief and I am so happy a lot of that has been kept and celebrated. It’s old, it’s cold, but I cannot WAIT to start planning what we’re going to do with it ☁️
