We made the drive up to Talkeetna for opening weekend and OH MY LORD… absolutely worth it once again. Warm, hearty bread piled high with spinach, cheese, and garlic in a combination that somehow gets even better every single year.
This has become one of those little traditions we look forward to every year. A drive north, good conversation, beautiful views, and spinach bread that honestly might be one of our favorite foods in the entire state.

We decided to take advantage of the blue skies and head south down the Seward Highway along Turnagain Arm. The mountains were showing off and it felt like one of those days that reminds you why we love calling this place home.
We stopped for lunch at Coast Pizza (so good every single time), soaked in the views, and then made our way to one of our absolute favorite spots, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
It wasn’t a big adventure. Just a quick afternoon jaunt. But fresh air, sunshine, and this beautiful state? That’s more than enough.
Days like this feel like a gift.
