The real truth ⬇️

Postpartum core recovery has two types of moms. The ones who jump back in too fast and skip the foundation. And the ones who are so afraid of doing damage that they hold off way too long and never actually get strong.

1️⃣ Start with the pelvic floor. Not because everything else is off limits, but because this is your base. Your pelvic floor, diaphragm, and deep core need to reconnect and coordinate before you load them. Skipping this is like trying to build walls before you’ve poured the foundation. But here’s the other side of that: so many moms wait too long before getting back to regular core work, and that holds them back just as much. You need load to get stronger. The pelvic floor is where you start, not where you stay.

2️⃣ Don’t fear the crunch. I say this as a pelvic health physio: front loading and rotational movements are important. Your core functions in every plane of motion and your training should too, eventually. The goal is to earn those movements, not avoid them forever.

3️⃣ Breathe through everything. Your breath and your pelvic floor are a team🤝. As you move, your pelvic floor responds to pressure changes happening with every inhale and exhale, so when you learn to work with that instead of against it, everything changes. Avoid bearing down and focus on coordinating your breath, your pelvic floor, and your movement all working together. M

4️⃣ Look at the BIG picture. Because none of the above matters if you are chronically sleep deprived and undereating. Your body repairs at rest. It rebuilds with protein. If you are running on empty, your progress will reflect that and that is not a willpower problem, it is a biology problem.

5️⃣ Follow a framework, NOT timeline. There is no universal rule. Some moms spend a week on foundation work and progress quickly. Others take longer and also totally normal. What matters is hitting milestones before moving on, not hitting a specific week mark. Think progressive overload, gradual progression, and actually moving forward.

Postpartum recovery is layered. Start at the bottom and build up 🔑

Can’t stop wearing this - here are my honest thoughts⬇️

It glides on so smoothly and doesn’t dry out my lips. The colour is wearable and hydrating. I love how it feels on my lips 😍

The internet is obsessed with this bag… and yes, it has officially replaced my diaper bag 🎒

It’s washable, lightweight, and roomy enough to fit literally everything. I got the large size and it has been my daily carry.

Here are the 5 things ⬇️

❌ Put her in a baby walker or Jolly Jumper.
These skip the steps that actually build walking, core strength, weight shifting, postural control.
✅ Instead: cruising along furniture and supported standing at a low surface.

❌ Rush her into hard-soled shoes.
Barefoot is best for new walkers. That ground feedback is how the brain learns to balance.
✅ Instead: barefoot indoors, flexible soft soles outside only.

❌ Panic because she walks with her feet turned out.
Wide base, out-toeing can be normal at that age. It’s a balance strategy. Most kids self-correct by 2–3.
✅ Instead: watch, wait, give lots of floor time.

❌ Hold her hands overhead to help her walk.
It looks sweet but it actually shifts her centre of mass and makes it harder to use her core.
✅ Instead: two fingers at hip height, or a push toy she controls.

❌ Compare her timeline to another baby’s.
9 to 15 months is the full normal range. How they move matters more than when.
✅ Instead: trust the process. No walking by 18 months? That’s when to see a PT.
