A brand-new concept from the team behind NYC’s 3 Michelin-starred Jungsik has officially arrived!
Instead of focusing on one cuisine, this new restaurant blends flavors and techniques from across Asia into an 8-course tasting menu. Highlights include scallop with fermented tomato and coconut (one of my favorites—I literally drank every last drop of the sauce), noodles with mentaiko and soybean, salmon with incredibly crispy skin in a rich red curry, and short rib served four different ways with Asian wraps (another favorite!!). Finish with pineapple, Thai basil, coconut, and coffee-inspired desserts.
Huge thanks to June, Alice, Alexander, and Nicholas for the flawless service and warm hospitality. I have a feeling this place is going to blow up!

This 170-seat jazz club, created by the team behind Jazz Standard, Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Michelin-starred hospitality concepts, has officially opened in Midtown, paying homage to the legendary 52nd Street jazz clubs that once defined NYC’s live jazz scene.
Designed for an intimate, front-row experience, it features exceptional acoustics and great sightlines. Owners Grant Gardner and Martin Porter are often at the front door welcoming guests before the show.
I stopped by for the official grand opening, where Pulitzer Prize winner and multiple GRAMMY Award-winning trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the acclaimed Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra kicked off the venue with an extraordinary two-night engagement. The music in this reel is from one of the pieces they performed that night!

Just opened in SoHo from the team behind Kiko New York and Chef Joji Miwa, this spot serves a seasonal Japanese menu alongside a thoughtfully curated sake and wine program.
The menu leans into raw dishes, veggie-forward small plates, and a few mains. The sashimi was thick-cut and fresh, while the torotaku tartare came with toasted nori so you can wrap your own hand rolls.
The vegetables were the biggest surprise. The chrysanthemum salad with avocado, shiitake, sesame, and crispy burdock had incredible texture, while the Jimmy Nardello peppers with sweet white nectarines had a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Definitely don’t skip the veggie dishes.
The sake list is excellent. One of my favorites was the Emishiki Sensation White Junmai—soft, rounded, silky, and incredibly easy to drink.
Service was another highlight. Valerie and Omar were warm, attentive and super professional, while owner Lina and hostess Bianca made everyone feel right at home.
Save room for the melon parfait with melon sorbet, fresh melon, tapioca, sake lees cream, and rice crackers!
📍Noury: 137 Sullivan St, SoHo, NYC
💵 Raw & Small Plates $15-25 | Sake $16-22

If you’re in NYC and looking for something fun to do tonight or tomorrow, this is one you won’t want to miss!
Bar Libre, ranked among Asia’s 50 Best Bars, is bringing founder Yujiro Kiyosaki and manager/bartender Kazuaki Nagao to Bar 7 as part of their four-night NYC residency. Since they’re constantly traveling for guest shifts and competitions while also running Bar Libre in Tokyo, it’s actually rare to find them both behind the bar together. If you’ve ever wanted to experience Bar Libre, this is one of the best chances to do it without flying to Japan.
Along with their signature twists on classics like the Martini and Manhattan, they’re also serving an incredible lineup of fresh fruit cocktails.
Watching them behind the bar is an experience in itself. Every movement is so precise and effortless, and at times they’re shaking in perfect sync—it honestly felt like watching a performance.
The fruit cocktails ($20.5) are an absolute must-order, and there’s something for every palate:
🍋 More tart: Passion fruit, kumquat, raspberry
🍇 Balanced: Fig and grape (my two favorites!)
🍓 Sweeter: Strawberry, banana, cherry, plum, pomegranate, and more
The grape cocktail was my favorite. Made with cinnamon and sansho pepper, it paired surprisingly well with the fruit and was unlike anything I’ve had before. The fig came in a close second and was just as unforgettable—a customer actually brought fresh figs to the bar and asked the bartenders to create a cocktail with them, and it turned out amazing. I ended up recommending it to everyone around me! The kumquat was a close third—bright, citrusy, and incredibly refreshing.
✨ Pro tip: Go early if you want to try as many fruit cocktails as possible. Once the fresh fruit sells out, those cocktails are gone for the night.

Located inside the landmark former Lord & Taylor flagship on Fifth Avenue—now home to Amazon’s largest NYC corporate office—Shaver Hall transforms this iconic building into a new destination for food, drinks, and live music. The 35,000 sq ft space features 11 chef-curated eateries, 3 full-service restaurants, 2 bars, a self-serve 20-tap beer wall, and a modern bodega.
The biggest highlight has to be Pick & Cheese, London’s famous cheese conveyor belt making its first U.S. location. Choose from 28 rotating plates featuring artisan cheeses, charcuterie, and desserts, each thoughtfully paired with accompaniments like hot honey, kimchi, fudge, popcorn, and raspberry preserves. Plates start at just $5.95, making it such a fun tasting experience.
Other highlights include F&F Pizzeria from the team behind Frankies 457 Spuntino, Tonchinette from the creators of Tonchin, Taqueria Al Pastor featured on Netflix’s Taco Chronicles, Chick Chick by Bib Gourmand Chef Jun Park, Tompkins Square Bagels, Butter Chicken Social, and more. There are also three full-service restaurants, including Tallow Steakhouse and Michelin-starred Mako, plus Layaway Bar and a live music stage with performances throughout the week.

Also one of my favorite bars in the city.
The team behind Double Chicken Please has quietly launched a new soft serve concept that’s currently in soft opening.
For now, they’re serving just two rotating flavors at a time, with a mix of cocktail-inspired and non-alcoholic options.
I tried the Garibaldi, made with orange, orange blossom, and Campari. Bright, citrusy, refreshing, and not too sweet.
Tomorrow’s flavors: 🫒 Dirty Martini 🍵 Green Tea
More flavors are expected to roll out next week ahead of the official opening!
📍 Unnecessary (next to DCP) 🍦 $11 (Boozy & non-boozy rotating flavors)

One of Nolita’s most beloved Italian restaurants may have closed its original location last year, but it’s officially back under Altamarea Group—the team behind Marea and Ai Fiori—with a brand-new concept.
The new space feels more casual and neighborhood-focused, with a pasta-driven menu and one of the best deals I’ve seen lately: 4 different martinis for just $9, available all night at the bar.
Highlights included the Swordfish Special, which was incredibly tender with capers adding the perfect salty bite, and the Linguine Alle Vongole, loaded with fresh clams and packed with savory flavor.
For starters, don’t miss the Parmigiano Gelato topped with anchovy and pesto sauce for a sweet, salty, and savory bite.
A heads up: some of the cicchetti (small plates) are pretty small, so if you’re hungry, definitely order a pasta or two and don’t skip the daily specials.

Inspired by the bold flavors of Kerala, this spot is one of NYC’s most exciting new openings right now.
One of the coolest details is their spice room, stocked with over 50 spices sourced from India. You can taste that attention to detail in every dish.
The crispy jackfruit appetizer was a standout—I’ve never had jackfruit prepared like this before. The curries were equally impressive, especially the crab and fish. Beautifully presented with huge chunks of seafood and layered with fruity, tangy, fragrant, and savory flavors all at once. Easily some of the prettiest curries I’ve ever seen.
Other highlights included the pork belly, flaky Malabar paratha, tomato cocktail, and the coconut dessert.
The space is dark and intimate, with a really beautiful atmosphere. Service was also excellent throughout the meal.
💰 Most dishes $20–$50
🍸 Cocktails $22

Originally from Tochigi Prefecture just north of Tokyo, Yakiniku Great is known for its premium Kuroge Wagyu and carefully selected rare cuts.
We tried the wagyu omakase, featuring A5 Wagyu grilled tableside and served course by course. The experience starts at $130 for The 5 or $170 for The 7, with the option to add the Uni Chateaubriand (+$70), which was easily one of the highlights of the meal and worth the upgrade. Also loved the sake pairing!
This NYC location also marks the brand’s first U.S. outpost.

I was in the neighborhood for dinner and stopped in for what was supposed to be one drink. A few hours and three drinks later, I was still there.
The owner, Tsurui-san, spent years working as a driver and in healthcare before opening BAR ROCK INDIA in 2012 to pursue a lifelong passion for music. His collection fills every corner of the space, and listening to him pull records from the shelves and share the stories behind them is part of the experience. He’s incredibly passionate about music and introduced me to artists and records I had never listened to before.
Despite the language barrier, he kept an English dictionary behind the bar and would look up words so we could continue our conversation.
The space is filled with stacks of vinyl records and CDs, handwritten menus, homemade cola, occasional homemade snacks/sweets, and live music on select nights.
Definitely one of the most memorable nights I had in Tokyo!
