As always, I gotchaaaa.
Save this cardio conversion cheat sheet 🩵
The goal here is to give you comparable cardio swaps. For example: workout has 500m row, but you don’t have a rower.
So you could do 20-30 cals on the bike, or 400-500m on the ski erg. Or complete something like burpees, mountain climbers, or jump rope for ~2 minutes.
I made some updates to this infographic to include the Ski Erg, since Hyrox races are so popular these day and they’re fairly common in gyms now (yay!)
Do note that numbers/times listed may vary depending on if you’re using a Concept 2 Bike Erg, Echo Bike, Assault Bike, etc.
Let me know if you found this helpful!
And feel free to share it so it can help others too 🙏

If there’s one thing I did well at the beginning of my lifting & coaching career, it was invest a lot of time watching lifting videos, nerding out over technique, obsessing over mobility, and just being passionate about movement.
Cuz one of the most common things I see is people performing movements or following what appears to be good programming… but missing the mark on technique and how they’re actually executing.
And I’m not talking super nitty gritty stuff.
I’m talking missing the foundations of a movement.
For example: doing push-ups, but not actually touching your chest to the floor. Doing bicep curls, but not actually fully extending and straightening the arms at the bottom on each rep. Doing a conventional deadlift, but having hands and feet wayyy too wide. And so on.
It’s a bummer cuz then people end up spinning wheels in the sand. They don’t know how to move well, they don’t have an understanding of what muscles they’re working or where they should be “feeling” it, they don’t know how to properly set-up or where they should have their hands, feet, hips, etc.
It’s why one of the very first things we did when we founded in 2018 was invest a LOT of money in filming movement demo videos and lifting videos for our training app and YouTube channels.
That way Paragon members (or people watching) would know exactly how to perform each lift, and could also film themselves lifting and compare to our videos.
Similarly, my IG and the PTM IG is absolutely stacked with hundreds of lifting videos, movement swaps, gym hacks, and scaling / modification ideas.
Just my way of fighting the good fight to help people move & lift better. Get nerdy about movement and regularly film yourself lifting. It’ll change the game for you, promise 🙌🏻
-Forever trying to help everyone get strong, jacked, and feel good in their skin (:

1. Incline Barbell Bench
2. Flat DB Bench Press
3. Incline DB Bench Press
*Disclaimer: if your sh** chronically hurts, probably a good sign to see a doctor, get it checked out, get imaging, etc etc (:
**If you have fake melons, please refer back to YOUR doctor’s guidelines and suggestions regarding exercise and lifting.
It’s not uncommon to see the suggestion of not doing tons of chest-focused work (as it may cause implants to migrate or displace over time, may negatively impact implant appearance, etc). But it can also depend on if above or below the muscle, the implant type, etc. So doublecheck with your surgeon 🩵
Anyway!
Benching with dumbbells often works better for shoulder limitations as you can rotate and have more control over the weight, unlike a barbell where your hand and body placement is fixed.
When it comes to flat bench vs incline bench, each setup and range of motion with the weight targets slightly different muscle groups, which is why you can hopefully find one that DOES work for you, if flat barbell benching is no bueno.
With dumbbells, DO try to angle your hands & dumbbells at a ~45° angle and keep elbows closer to your sides (pay attention my form in the DB & Incline DB videos!)
It’s common to see people DB bench with elbows out wide in a “T” shape… which may not feel great on the shoulders. Highly suggest videoing yourself!
Hope this helps.
Let me know if I can answer any questions 🤘🏼

Needless to say, running in Nashville has been a bit of a system shock compared to my days running in a bikini by the beach, HAHA 🥶🥶
Nashville is hillyyyyy, which has been a humbling kick in the teeth. IMO, people here are also hardAF, the amount of people who bundle up to walk their dogs & go run despite frigid temps is really impressive.
I don’t quite have the right running gear to hang in ~20-30° temps (yet), so I’ve been doing some of my runs on a treadmill. Much to my surprise, I don’t hate it?!
Genuinely never thought I’d be that person - but I guess it just goes to show “don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it”
Kinda nice to be comfy, not stressing over if you’re dressed right for the weather, and also to watch movies while you get the job done. Been watching episodes of Landman and Homeland during my runs (:
I mentioned this in one of the swipes - but my days of lifting this much are for sure numbered. As mileage and run time climb over time, I’ll dial down lifting accordingly.
But for now, soaking up the booty/shoulder specialty cycles at and having a blast doing it 💃💃
I am a little bummed how much cardio / conditioning I lost since completing the BPN 50-mile ultramarathon in November, but tons of cardio just wasn’t in the cards between moving across the country, holidays, and trying to keep up with work & running a biz the last few months.
And that’s ok. We’ll be back before we know it.
It’s part of the fun with nutrition and fitness - once you have knowledge & experience under your belt and know how to eat, how to fuel your training, how to arrange your schedule… it’s relatively easy to pick back up.
You just have to put your head back down, start putting in the reps, give the work time to compound, and you’ll be back in no time 🧡
Are you training for anything right now or eyeballing any races/comps in the near future? Love to hear about it ↓↓

Always love making these types of videos, as I remember how overwhelming and agonizing it was, trying to remember all the different lifts when I was brand new to lifting. Save this post and & tag your friends!
tldr: all 4 lifts start at the collarbones and end overhead, but how they get there is pretty different (:
1️⃣ Strict Press: all arms, no legs
2️⃣ Push Press: arms AND legs. You’ll bend your knees and perform a short dip, then explosively drive bar overhead with the help of your legs
3️⃣ Push Jerk: bend knees and perform a short dip. Then explosively drive up and drop under the bar, catching in a quarter squat. Then straighten legs, walk feet in, open hips, and stand up
4️⃣ Split Jerk: knees bend, short dip, aggressively drive up bar and drop under as feet spread wide. The front knee should plant at about a ~90 degree angle, while back leg is slightly bent with heel off floor. Feet then meet in the middle by walking front foot back and back foot forward
Which each lift, how much weight you can move should increase as each lift becomes more and more explosive and dynamic.
Meaning you can likely move the least weight with Strict Press, you should be able to Push Press more than you can Strict Press, and then you’ll be able to move the most weight with Push and then Split Jerk.
Happy liftinggg 🤘🏼🤘🏼

New year, but we were as heeeeeel ain’t cooking. So we’re back w/ another #cookingiscancelled food guide
If you’re new here, “cooking is cancelled” was an idea and phrase I coined during shutdown.
I actually used to enjoy cooking and meal prepping food, but as a busy and overwhelmed biz owner during the panini, that era quickly and abruptly came to an end.
I started seeking out food options that required minimal (or zero) effort in the kitchen. Aka if it took more than a quick microwave nuke or sizzle in a skillet, we weren’t doing it 🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♀️
Swipe for easy & stress-free high-protein food options at
Did I show any of your favorites in the swipes?

This is because you’re moving through a large range of motion, and they’re weighted by default as you have to move your bodyweight through space and gravity.
The next time you lift, try ending your workout with 2-3 sets of 8-15 reps 💪🏼💪🏼

Comment “peach” & we’ll DM tons of free workouts and more deets about the upcoming cycles 💌
At Paragon, we like big butts and we cannot lie.
Which is why when we started planning out training cycles for 2026, kicking off the New Year with one of our tried-and-true member faves was a no brainer.
We’re already known for building impressive Paragon Peaches, but this cycle is basically our Super Bowl and when we REALLY go all out 💁🏼♀️🙌🏼
(and if you’re like pshhh, Major Lazer’s “Bubble Butt” is already my life anthem - no sweat. You could swap out the glute-focused lifts for quad or hamstring focused lifts, or just follow one of our other programs that doesn’t participate in the specialty cycle (peep swipe 2!)
Speaking of - WE ARE FINALLY DROPPING A 2-DAY PHYSIQUE PROGRAMMM 🥳
It is glorious, has full body sessions, and will be perfect for anyone who loves running, enjoys other sports or hobbies alongside their lifting, or anyone who’s short on time but still wants to maximize the squeeze on the time they DO have to spend working out.
Peach Party starts Monday January 5th.

BUT FIRST: I need YOU to hop to the comments! Let me know your name, where ya live, and your favorite taco. That way I can say hi & get to know you better, too 👋🏼👋🏼
I’m Laurie. Previously known as “LCK,” so now you can also call me LCT! 🥰 (sharing various pics from over the years in the swipes, so happy swiping!)
I’m a gym rat, skateboard and video game junkie, and I love lifting, running, playing with our German Shepherd (Marvel), and being at the beach.
I’m team breakfast tacos, and also a BIG car girly. So occasionally you’ll see my fully restored 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 (aside from Charlie, it’s the love of my life and whoever says $$ can’t buy happiness has clearly never driven an old school Landy) 🫶🏻
As a teen, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It led me to pursue a Bachelors in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics - so I could take my health back into my own hands.
Over the last 17 years, I’ve done a lil bit of everything: coached group classes, worked for CrossFit Gymnastics Seminar Staff, 1:1 nutrition coaching, wrote ebooks, been on tons of podcasts, printed in magazines, and even featured on live tv!
In 2018, and I founded the world-famous workout company, 💗
Every so often, I’ll post about my experience with blood clots & being diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I had TOS surgery on both sides in 2023, so I now have 2 less rib bones than a normal person has.
Lastly: after years of manifesting on IG Story that “my future husband drives a 4Runner” and that I’d meet my man at a gym - I DID. I was just manifesting from the wrong state. I met at a gym right after I moved to CA, and he was the one who bought my old 4Runner 😂
Anyway - thanks for being here!
And can’t wait to “meet” you in the comments! (: (:
Never not changing my hair color constantly,
- Laurie
ps: I’m only 5’3 irl, don’t let these spidey legs fool ya 🕷️
Yosemite is wonderful and a MUST for your travel bucket list, but be prepared to drive - a LOT (:
We stayed in Yosemite AutoCamp, which meant leaving at 3:30am to catch sunrise at 5:30am. I’ll be honest and say the early drive up to Glacier Point was a littleee stressful as it was pitch black out, the roads are steep and windy, and the lights on the Defender aren’t the brightest.
But once you get to the parking lot, you’re instantly met with breathtaking views and picture perfect backdrops. And we were def rewarded for burning the midnight oil & heading up early, as we beat the crowds and pretty much had free rein to take pictures.
Around 9:30am, we made the 2 hour trek back to AutoCamp to get food and rest up. The drive down was BEAUTIFUL and we had no idea we’d climbed over 7,200 feet of elevation to get to the top.
Around 1:30pm, we got cleaned up, I re-did my hair and makeup, and we took our “getting ready” photos at the Airstream. We grabbed photos of our wedding donuts, my bouquet, our vow books, rings, and also snapped some pics with Marvel (doggos aren’t allowed in Yosemite National Parks, so she didn’t come along to Glacier or Taft Point)
Taft Point Trail was another 2 hour drive, and then it took us about an hour to hike out on foot.
It was my favorite of the two, though I had no idea until we went to say our vows and trade rings on one of the cliffs that is afraid of heights 😂
At the tail end of the sunset, we popped a bottle of champagne and then put on headlamps and began the hike back to our car.
All in all, it was a full 24 hour adventure that began 11:30pm on Monday night and ended with us getting home at 11:30pm on Tuesday. It was worth the lack of sleep ♡
of photography was SUCH a joy to shoot with and made the whole process feel fun, stress-free, and easy.
More pics and videos to come! (:
