Scottish Gaelic word of the day is for ‘peace’ ♥️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I genuinely feel as though this is something that many of us, or the world.. is craving and need more of right now!

Ironic as the word looks like Sith.. but swings and roundabouts 🥰 you can’t have it all!

#gaelic #scotland #peace #scottishculture
Scottish Gaelic words of the day are for ‘wind’ and ‘windy’ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿♥️

The wind on the islands (this is on the Isle of Lewis) can be absolutely brutal! It’s relentless but it really does shake off the cobwebs (and sadly, your mascara) 🥰

It can be equally refreshing and soul destroying at the same time..depending on your plans!

Brochan hates the wind.. I don’t think that it feels so pleasant tickling his bum..so best believe that he was not amused! 😂🐾
Scottish Gaelic word of the day is one that encompasses so much and that is ‘misneach’ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿♥️

Courage, bravery, spirit, hope, and encouragement.. this was the perfect word for new issue, which I am forever grateful for the opportunity to not only be a part of.. but to be on the cover of! ♥️

You can head over to their page to hear me say the word ‘misneach’ but for now, some behind the scenes of the photoshoot..which was so out of my comfort zone but also makes me feel each and every one of those words 🥰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I can’t wait to see the final edit because, like you, I have NO idea what’s coming!

Scottish Gaelic words of the day and we have ‘Edinburgh’ AND a throwback to my first ever Scottish Gaelic word of the day which was ‘castle’! ♥️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scotland, and Aberdeenshire in particular are full of incredible castles! Aberdeenshire alone has over 250!

I love to visit the castles in Scotland and I can’t wait to do more of that this year 🥰

I wanted to share a few of my favourites and some that you may recognise.. or recognise the inspo they have featured in!

I think we have a Pixar, Disney and a Netflix Christmas film castle in there! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿♥️

Scottish Gaelic word for ‘old woman’, ‘hag’ or even ‘the veiled one’ if you like your Scottish folklore! ✨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This was always the word that you would use to describe the much, much older woman, in my eyes! Not the grandmothers but the great, great grandmothers and honestly, even now.. they seem too young and cool for it!

Did you know the tale of The Cailleach? I think it’s an interesting read, and there are variations of the lore between all of the Celtic languages, so it’s definitely worth checking out! ♥️

But now.. tell me, is The Cailleach simply an old woman, or is she the goddess of winter, veiled as an old hag, in your eyes?!

There are lots of words in Scottish Gaelic for things, just like in any other language.. from easy to difficult and everything in between 🥰

I say this often because I think it’s really easy to feel intimidated by a language when you hear natives speaking it..but it doesn’t need to be!

And of course, I hear a lot of “Gaelic just uses English words, with an accent” which I totally understand, that to your ears, sounds that way.. and it does borrow some words from other Indo European languages, as many languages do!

but actually, I think.. ok, as a beginner, let’s use that way of thinking to our advantage because now you know SO many Gaelic words and you didn’t even know it! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿♥️

I bet that you knew most of the words that I’ve listed, maybe not the spelling, but I’d bet that you knew a lot of the words..and didn’t need phonetics to help!

That’s something to be proud of, if you ask me! 🥰

For reference.. ‘heileacoptar’ is the example that I hear most often for “Gaelic just using English” but did you know that heli.. 👀😂

I’m joking but I do think it’s interesting and something to embrace as a beginner ♥️

Some Scottish Gaelic words around snow because.. well, it’s snowing! 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿♥️

Brochan has really been enjoying playing in the snow which is so fun to watch!

Also, can you spot the deer in picture 8? There are 2! Not quite reindeer but you get the idea! 🥰

Do you have snow? And if so.. how do you feel about it? I’ve been watching cars get stuck all day and that side of things, does not please me!

If you were to ask me about 2025, I would tell you that it was not my year. It was not my favourite.. by a long shot. I found it hard, I doubted myself a lot, and I felt like I was failing in comparison to EVERYONE around me, both in career and personal life ✨

But whether or not you felt the same way (and I know a lot of people have expressed feeling the same way this year), I would genuinely encourage you to look back at all the photos that you took last year, because it might just surprise you, and seriously humble you, the way it has me.

I went on so many incredible trips. Lewis, Skye, Paris, Amsterdam and Cornwall to name just a few. Which I am going to post more of because things really fell to the side at the end of the year! ♥️

I won a Gaelic film award with, which still feels surreal. And by the way, it is open for entries right now for this year, so please consider entering.. whatever your level of speaking! 🥰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I had my first full year of Brochan antics, and some of those moments will not be mentioned again, but iykyk 🥲

We shared more Scottish Gaelic together and achieved some genuinely incredible things ♥️

I saw Oasis.. which honestly, Slipknot in 2024, Oasis in 2025 and I’m really keeping my fingers crossed to see BTS again in 2026.. because we like to keep it eclectic over here! 😂♥️

I completed two courses that I had absolutely no time for, or business, doing. But I really needed that personal growth and sense of accomplishment.. just something for me!

And finally, in December, I shot a magazine COVER with which is so, so far from my introverted self, but I am so incredibly proud. I am so excited about it and I’m just.. again, it’s surreal!

Looking back on the year now, I think it might actually have been one of my best in many ways 😂

and now I’m left thinking.. WHAT IS MY LIFE?! ♥️
First look at our shoot in Scotland with and for our upcoming issue on the theme of ‘Courage’…stay tuned for more!
Some Scottish Gaelic for some exciting Christmas times (that are not from this week!) ♥️

I am at that point of being ill.. I’m sure you’ll know it.. where I am just entirely fed up and a bit grouchy about it 😂

Being unwell at Christmas is nothing but a cruel joke but I’m looking on fonder moments

So.. I have the most EXCITING news.. and that is that I took part in a photoshoot for 🥰♥️ honestly, as a massive introvert it is SO out of my comfort zone and SO exciting.. but I will do a whole separate post to tell you all about it!

Christmas decorations are now 50% off.. question is, do you stock up now or buy new ones at the time? I’m curious!

Brochan was VERY excited (relieved?) to be picked up after his Christmas haircut ♥️

This tartan skirt is beyond gorgeous.. I love it! I just love how much tartan is in the shops right now!

Also, a massive ego boost for me, especially as I sit surrounded by tissues and empty chocolate wrappers.. I was notified that I am in the top 50 British redhead influencers with names like and.. that’s CRAZY! But you best believe that I will be dropping it into every conversation I can 😂

I hope that you had a wonderful day yesterday, whatever you did and next stop.. my birthday! 🥰
