It’s not goodbye, it’s more like “I’m over here making pots.”
Life’s a journey, and if this last year has taught me anything, it’s that it can be a bumpy one. My world got turned upside down and I found myself on a road no one ever wants to walk. Step by step (and yes, taking up long distance running, a standard entry approach Im told), I’ve been figuring it all out with the help of some incredible people around me.

So yeah, I’m opening a pottery. It was a dream that Kirsty and I shared for years, and I feel I owe it to both of us to give it my best shot.
I’m officially launching on October 23rd, and I’ve set myself a challenge to make 100 coffee cups. Come on over to to see how it’s going.

As for photography, I’m still here, still out in the woods, still shooting bikes. Nothing’s changing there. I’m just also making pots now, that’s all.

Today and also the 23rd signify two pretty massive days close to my heart. This is my attempt to create new good memories, while holding on to and reflecting on the ones that came before.
This one means a lot to me on many levels. crushing her Everest Challenge at. Video of the story over on Becci’s page.
There’s no denying it, getting a magazine cover rocks! Even in today’s digital age, where so much content is consumed on screens, there’s something special about holding a magazine in your hands, feeling the texture of the pages, and appreciating the words and design up close. Creating the photos is a process in itself, but a magazine cover is truly a collaboration of skills and artistry. It’s a shame to see print magazines struggling, but it’s amazing to see legends like still going strong.

This cover featuring marks my 10th with MBUK and around my 30th magazine cover overall. I’m still just as stoked every time I see one, and I’ve got them all collected. Needless to say, Becci was buzzing too!

This shot was part of a larger feature about the trails at. We had a solid crew on the day—,,,, and —and the beautiful weather made this shoot even better. Grab a copy if you can!

I feel like back in 2012-15, there was a shift to online magazine-style content, with neat website designs, interactive features, and embedded videos that made the experience more dynamic. Nowadays, it feels like we’ve become a bit lazy, just linking to content on different platforms like IG posts or YouTube videos, instead of enhancing the web experience. Maybe one day, we’ll see it all come full circle.
A bit of real talk for you: the fall of hit hard on so many levels. It wasn’t just Nukeproof; it was all of Wiggle CRC, all the house brands, and all the incredible projects happening behind closed doors... gone. It was a hub of cycling innovation, and seeing it all disappear in a flash was quite surreal. Maybe it’s a sign of the times, a sign of things to come, or just a series of unfortunate events. I’m not here to delve into the reasons why.

It’s been a few months since the news broke about Wiggle CRC’s closure, but the dust has far from settled. What struck me the most was how it affected the people—a dedicated and passionate team across the board. Pretty much everyone was in it for the love of bikes. Imagine waking up to find your dream job has been axed. It really sucked for everyone involved.

This shoot was part of the Megawatt Carbon launch campaign that and I put together. It was my last project for NP. The project included a long-form video on how the bike was developed (which you can find on YouTube) and product photography to showcase the bike. Rob and I have shot countless bikes together over the years for Nukeproof, always striving to make them look as stunning as possible and in the best locations we could find. What could be more iconic than shooting on CRC’s doorstep, the Giant’s Causeway?

This year marks nine years since I first took photos with Rob and Nukeproof. All I can say is, cheers to everyone who made all those years so amazing! You know who you are.
What better way to kick off a look back at some recent shoots than with this set of? Tahnee invited me out to Lousã for her Speed of Sound shoot to capture some action alongside Joe Bowman and Sam Needham from. There were plenty of dusty turns, but the main focus was to shoot Tahnee’s 57 kit—a custom-designed kit by herself, launched each year. I believe Tahnee is the only Fox rider whose custom kit goes to market for any riders to buy.

Shooting with Tahnee is always a pleasure. Her dedication to getting the shot, even under the burning Portuguese sun. It was my first time in Lousã and Portugal, and although it was a flying visit mostly spent on the DH track, the place had a mellow, somewhat lawless feel where it seemed anything goes.

We shot for three days, which might sound like plenty of time, but when there’s action, kits, and bikes to shoot alongside all the video needs, time flies. Working alongside a film crew has its challenges; there’s always a balance of who gets ‘the spot’ and how many ‘one mores’ you can throw out there. However, I always feel the energy with a bigger crew. When everyone is working together, you can really create something special.
Howdy… Laurence here. It’s been almost 3 years since I last posted to Instagram or any social media, really. I think I just fell out of love with it. I felt the game changed—it became all about the hunt for numbers. It became less about the art and more about what can be gained by posting something. There had to be a reason; it was never just for the expression of the craft. Not to say there can’t be a commercial gain to it, but I feel like we are constantly having it thrown in our faces… and if I’m honest, I got all caught up in it too. Tagging brands, tracking followers, posting during the most ‘eye-ball on’ hours. So I took a break from it. But I’m back!

So, where have I been the last 3 years? Well, if I’m honest, I’ve been as busy as ever on the photography side. Plenty of amazing projects completed, which I hope to share here as some retrospective catch-ups. Unfortunately, life also throws some wicked curveballs, and if you know, you know—it hasn’t been the best time this last year. But with things hopefully turning a corner, the sun is starting to shine. Kirsty and I are looking forward to some new life challenges ahead.

“But Laurence, if you hate it so much, why are you back here?” Well, there actually are some amazing sides to social media: the community, the talent, and really, that’s why. I just want to share again—share the art, share the love for great stuff I see, and give back to a community that has been so supportive to me over the last 15 years. How and what that will be, I think I’m just going to let happen organically. What do you want to see more of? More photos of bikes shredding, or in-depth explanations of how stuff is captured? I’m going to ask you lovely people what you want to see and go from there. I’m not going to try and post every day or schedule everything; it’s going to be a bit as and when I feel it. I may even make a Reel! Read more in comments
