Most travelers visiting Venice in summer will never see this. The city transforms when the sky becomes the show. The pavement in front of the Doge's Palace turns into a mirror, the gondolas become silhouettes, and suddenly you're alone with a thousand years of Venetian history.
15 years living in Venice, Italy and photographing this lagoon city. My strongest images? All shot in bad weather, off-season, in Castello and San Marco sestieri when nobody else is out.

Granit contacted me weeks before their trip. He wanted to propose to Ida on a gondola in the quietest part of Venice. I booked the gondola, briefed the gondolier, and positioned myself on a bridge over the Rio de San Trovaso before they even arrived.
At 9:30 on an April morning, Venice belongs to you. The canals are empty. The light is soft. Nobody is watching.
He reached for the ring. She covered her face. She cried. She laughed. She said yes.
30 minutes on the water. Photos and video captured simultaneously. Gallery delivered in 5 days.

This is the Venice most people never see.
At Piazzetta San Marco, with the Doge’s Palace on one side, the two columns ahead, and the Grand Canal opening into the mist, Venice becomes grand and quiet at the same time.
For a honeymoon session, this balance is everything. You have the iconic setting, but you also have space, calm, and light that feels soft instead of busy.
As a Venice Photographer, this is one of my favorite places to photograph couples when the city is still half asleep.
There is something very different about standing here in March at 6:30 AM. The atmosphere is lighter, the movement is slower, and the place feels less like a landmark and more like a shared experience.
That is what I look for in Photoshoot sessions: beauty that does not feel forced. The city becomes more emotional when it is seen this way.
