Wow… I’m still stunned with ourselves and our performance and grind throughout this extremely difficult week. And I’m just so proud of us… how we are as a team, of my long term partner and how we fight every point, every game, every match, everyday, not only in this final, but every single time we share the court.
And I’m proud of our team and the people who were with us all the way, not only on this sunny, beautiful day of success, but also on every step of the way to it, the crappy times of the season, the times when it rains, not only like here in Cancun, but in your heart. When the wind is blowing in your face like here, the late night waiting for hours and then not playing at all, and the really dark moments, the ones where things are not pretty, but that are not seen by the media. We put all we had into each point, each match this week and were rewarded with the victory in the end 🏆✨🇺🇸 What a feeling of joy & pride for us, our performances, our teams and families supporting us - not only yesterday, but on the long journey until this day.
The road to a success like this is never easy - even if it looks like that from the outside... And I’m thankful for the people who continuously walk by my side through the tough times, the lows to arrive at such highs together with me. Above all my boyfriend and coach who has my back no matter what and was the loudest (and for the most part the only one) in our box ❤️
