๐I rode a full 24 hours with quick stops to eat or change layers. Around 5am I started falling asleep while pedalling - didnโt even know that was possible ๐ . I also couldnโt stomach solids anymore, so it was gels, jellies and carb drink only. Huge thanks to for a fuelling strategy and products that gave me confidence from start to finish with zero stomach issues ๐
๐ I stuck with my trusted Wild XCs instead of ice tyres. Gave me the best balance of grip and speed although nothing could contend with the slushy snow and icy patches that had us running and pushing bikes for long sections overnight.
๐ I had warm feet all race thanks to winter merino and storm waterproof socks ๐.
๐ Went in planning to see what I could doโฆ then my competitive streak took over and I ended up racing it, even sprinting the last lap ๐ . Stoked to make the podium with some inspirational women. Anyone who finishes this race should be proud, itโs brutal!
