Heini secured 17.5% of the votes, placing her ahead of ice hockey goalkeeper Leonardo Genoni, who came in third with 16% of the votes. Footballer Géraldine Reuteler took first place in the category with 29.3% of the votes.
Heini’s nomination recognised her status as the world’s best floorball goalkeeper and a key leader within the national team. She certainly lived up to that reputation during the 2025 World Floorball Championships in Brno and Ostrava, where Switzerland claimed their second-ever WFC title, their first since 2005. The team will now look to defend their title at the 2027 World Floorball Championships in Turku, Finland.
