Many know the Lemke family through Ankerkraut and their journey on “Die Höhle der Löwen.” After selling the company, they recently made the courageous decision to buy it back and begin a new chapter — and I had the opportunity to photograph them during exactly this time of transition and new beginnings.
To me, that’s what makes photography meaningful.
Because photographs are never just about appearances. They quietly capture a certain chapter in someone’s life.
What interested me most wasn’t the success story itself, but the people behind it:
their values, their energy as a family, and the way they interact when nobody is performing for the outside world.
We photographed here on my finca, surrounded by natural light, silence and my rescued animals — which always create a very special atmosphere around people.
And I believe you can feel that in the images.
For me, the most honest photographs are created in exactly those moments:
when people soften, arrive, and simply become present.
Moments built from connection, trust, emotion and something real — something no AI will ever be able to recreate.
