Oak is key to our style. Over 100 vessels of varying size, composition and origin provide us with a diverse palette of base wines from which to blend.

For now, they sleep. Fermentation slowed almost to stillness by the winter cold. But in spring they will stir again, and we will taste, listen, and follow where they tell us they want to go...

We’re open tomorrow (December 28th) for restocking, restorative lunches and vineyard walks, even a revelatory guided tour of the vineyard and winery (book online!). So whether you just need some fresh air, or you’ve drunk the shelf dry and need to top-up, we’re here for you.

After that, the Tasting Room and Smiths Kitchen will be closed for their winter break until March. Online orders will continue to be fulfilled from the week of 5th January, and we remain open for trade visits by appointment.
Our Blanc de Blancs is the pinnacle of our core range - an elegant, finely detailed wine made exclusively from Chardonnay, recently awarded 95 points by the International Wine & Spirits Competition. It’s a bottle worthy of the big celebration, whether served as an aperitif on Christmas Eve or poured with Christmas dinner. Complex, poised and with a long-finish, it’s a wine that makes the day feel that little bit more memorable.
Our Rosé has a more savoury character than you might expect, with subtle notes of blood orange, pomegranate and gentle spice. It’s particularly good on Boxing Day — poured alongside baked ham, cold cuts or even a leftovers sandwich. For those who favour darker game birds on Christmas Day, it has just the right depth and freshness to sit comfortably alongside pheasant, partridge or guinea fowl.

To quote one of our favourite wine writers Tamlyn Currin, "most people play safe with a rosé NV, but this wine is playing with tamarind, sumac piquancy and peppery lilt and lift. It's playing with angles while handing out curves. It really deserves food." We agree.
We love seeing our bottles get a second life. Our friends in Plymouth have turned them into elegant scented candles, now back in stock for the loveliest of Christmas presents. Available online from and at the Tasting Room now.
Corallian is our benchmark expression of Chardonnay. Bright and finely textured with a refined citrus character, it’s a wine shaped by our chalk soils and restrained winemaking approach. Its saline purity makes it a natural partner for raw shellfish, light seafood dishes or simply as a crisp aperitif.

Culver, by contrast, draws on Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier to deliver something broader and more generous. Awarded Best Classic Cuvée at this year's WineGB Awards, it carries a rounder mid-palate, gentle red-fruit notes and a savoury depth that makes it exceptionally food-friendly. From Boxing Day cold cuts to earthy, spicier dishes (for when we inevitably tire of roasted meats!), Culver is versatile, complex and delicious.

Introducing Ratafia of England.

We’re proud to share something entirely new from Langham. Ratafia of England is a sweet 'mistelle' wine crafted in collaboration with Barney Wilczak of Capreolus Distillery in the Cotswolds.

This inaugural release of just 517 bottles brings together the juice of the 2025 harvest with a spirit distilled from the 2024 fruit, both grown on our Cretaceous chalk soils here in rural Dorset. Bottled at 18% ABV, it captures the perfume, brightness and minerality that define our vineyard in an entirely new form.

Ratafia of England shows lifted notes of dried orchard fruit and orange blossom, with a gentle sweetness balanced by bright acidity and black-tea astringency. Serve lightly chilled as an aperitif, alongside cheese or fruit-based desserts, or simply enjoy as a contemplative digestif.

In 375ml bottles and presented in Capreolus' beautiful gift tubes, Ratafia of England is available to pre-order from now for delivery from Wednesday 3rd December.
