The baby, of only about eight months of age, was very weak and had lesions on both his front legs that prevented him from walking in addition to compromising his spine with the forced posture he had to develop to survive these months.
We gave him a treatment for the erlichia to which he tested positive in the blood tests and we asked for an appointment in Lepanto traumatology clinic where they informed us about possible solutions to improve his life.
He has a serious congenital injury in the right shoulder that has also compromised the left front leg and the spine: having spent so much time without any solution or treatment has certainly brought great pains to the little one besides complicating the possible solutions much more now.

Today my little girl Florence has passed away and she has left us the best gift, the life in freedom of her little ones, born in freedom, far from the exploitation and abuse of the industry.
Today we can only look at the sky and sense you up there, to know that you were free at the end: that you were loved by many people and that many helped to make possible for you to arrive at the Sanctuary, your arrival to our lives.
For this frailty of the living, of what exists today and tomorrow ceases to be, we have to feel grateful every day, of the company we have; of the people who love us and even of all the bad things that we have to go through.
Life is a way of learning and living it means to feel it.
Because of all those who today are still waiting for us, because of all of those who will be rescued tomorrow and will be members of our family, we will never stop fighting, although our heart sometimes feel small when we say goodbye to them.
