This powder room before and after was simple but major. The empty corner was begging for a custom cabinet, and we opted to leave it partially open for decor while still allowing functional closed storage as well. The perfect fit!

A themed room can be subtle. This space was so much fun to design & collect these unique pieces of art. 🤌🏻
We found the most perfect Declaration of Independence wallpaper and planned the room around it. With red and blue throw pillows, a curated gallery wall, and a dark navy color drench, the room says Americana without screaming it.

You’re faux trees look plastic, fake, and dinky because of these 4 mistakes:
1. TOO SMALL — not all faux trees are created equal and if you want a real-looking tree without the maintenance, you need to invest in a good quality, correctly proportioned tree. If you have 8’ ceilings, get a 7’ tree. If you have 10’ ceilings, get a 9’ tree. You want it to FILL. THE. SPACE.
2. YOUR POT IS WRONG — the biggest mistake I see is a pot that is WAY TOO DINKY for the tree. Don’t be afraid to go big and sculptural with your pot. Do not buy trees that come with little small pot that is attached, get a nice pot and it will transform even a cheap tree.
3. YOU NEED TO ADD FILLER — Adding moss, mulch, or pebbles will instantly take your fake tree up a notch and help it disguise as real. Make sure that pot is STUFFED to the brim!
4. YOU GOTTA FLUFF — When you take a faux tree out of a box, it is sticking straight up in the air, branches all squished together, and giving us nothingg. The #1 way to get your trees to look designer is by FLUFFING THE SHET out of them. Don’t be afraid to bend, mangle, and pull at every single branch until you get that more organic look. After all, real trees are anything but uniform, and that’s what we’re going for.
