Neck feeling stiff?

Give the massages a break and try out these ribcage focused movements instead.

The ribcage and mid back (thoracic spine) are often overlooked when addressing stubborn neck stiffness and pain.

When these areas are skipped we skip addressing the base that your neck sits on. Without addressing the base, the imbalances from below the neck result in the same muscles and areas of the body getting strained over and over again. The result? Short term temporary relief of neck tension/pain.

When I start with movements addressing the ribcage and mid back then go into neck specific stretches my patients often demonstrate bigger improvements that also last longer. 👏🏻👏🏻

Although these exercises are a great place to start, the best road to healing is a personalized plan designed for your specific body. There are multiple causes of neck pain that each require different treatments for long term relief. So having your body screened by a physical therapist is key to make sure you are getting the correct treatment.

If you’re sick of generic exercises use the link in my bio to request to work one on one with me. We will perform a full body assessment to identify the restrictions in your body and create personalized exercises to help your body find long term relief.
The days I used to pray for 🥹🫶🏻

Thank you for the support, love and prayers as we enter this new phase of life as parents. We are soaking in every minute of new memories being made: amazing, peaceful, chaotic, hard, beautiful and everything in between.

Thank goodness for our community around us we couldn’t do it without you! Both her and I are healthy, what a gift. 💗
Pregnancy favorites 💕

Wrapping up third trimester looking back I would do these over and over!

1. Meal-prepped dips were a lifesaver on busy weekdays. Cowboy caviar became a weekly staple. For some reason microwaved food was just a no go for the nausea (anyone else??).

2. The Theragun. Definitely an investment, but one I’ve been grateful for again and again after long days on my feet

3. absolutely nailed workout clothes on Amazon. I wore both maternity and non-maternity pieces - just sized up for non-maternity! Love finding quality without the huge price tag during a season where your body changes so quickly.

4. prenatals 🤍 Used their products to prep my body before conception and throughout pregnancy. Such a uality ingredients.

5. Skin hydration! To help avoid that skin itchiness and keep stretch marks at bay as much as possible. Loved for morning hydration that didn’t leave me feeling oily all day. Code KRISTENBOS10 saves at checkout ✨

6. Dogs make everything better 🤎🐾 And decorating a baby girl nursery has truly been a dream come true. Chair is from and crib is from

7. Watermelon electrolytes DAILY 😋

8. Holding my niece reminded me that every hard pregnancy day will be so worth it🥰💗

9. in my car and all my purses ready because snacks usually went better than big meals

10. Smoothie bowl cravings were REAL. I added protein powder to help fuel my body and growing baby well.

Smoothie recipe:
• Berry medley mix from
• 1 frozen banana
• 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
• 1 scoop vanilla protein
• 1 cup milk of choice
• 2 dates

Top with granola, chia seeds + almond butter drizzle ✨
Come hang out after a full day of work 💛

It’s crazy to think we are within 4 weeks of meeting baby girl, feeling excited, emotional, nervous, all the things. Life is about to change in so many ways and I cannot wait to experience it all.

Today the weather was AMAZING so we had to take advantage of it. If you live in Michigan you know winters are long and can be brutal.

Feuling my body well is something that’s been really important to me. Of course I indulge from time to time, but trying to prioritize making meals at home and researching a good quality prenatal has helped me continue to feel good and fight off the typical “brain fog” with pregnancy. I personally have used prenatal multi + super omega both leading up to and throughout my whole pregnancy.

Tonights dinner was VERY yummy if you want to try I will list the recipe below (all ingredients from ):
- Squiggly noodles (2 packets without the sauce packets)
- All natural shaved beef steak - cook with 2 table spoons of gyoza dipping sauce
- Miso crunch chopped salad kit
- Top with: edamame, green onion and drizzle of gyoza dipping sauce

Thanks for watching, appreciate each and every one of you! Hope you make today a good one ☺️💗
I joint pain when you walk? 👣 Let’s talk about one of the most overlooked first steps to fixing it ⬇️

Your body is designed to shift smoothly from side ➡️ to side ⬅️ when you move.
But when that coordination is lost, your SI joints take the hit…

⚠️ One side gets overstretched
⚠️ The other side gets compressed
⚠️ And that uneven strain = the pain you feel (especially with walking)

In this video, I’m sharing 3 simple exercises you can try at home to help restore that side-to-side shift and improve balance through your pelvis 🙌🏻

But here’s the truth 👇
✨ This is just the beginning
Once you restore movement, you NEED strength to support it - otherwise the pain keeps coming back.

And remember…
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” fix for pain (I wish there was 😅)

The best results come from working with a PT who can assess YOUR body, make sure you are correctly diagnosed and give you treatment for exactly what your individual body needs.

Save this for later & give these a try! 💪🏻

I hear it all the time:
“I didn’t know I could treat this while pregnant.”
“I was told it’s just part of pregnancy.”
“Just rest.”

But our bodies don’t just need rest - they crave movement, especially during pregnancy.

Yes, your body is changing A LOT (you’re literally growing a human), which can increase the chances of pain. But when you give your body the attention, movement, and muscular support it’s asking for, you can feel good - and you deserve to.

Last week I had some achiness in my left SI joint, and these are a few movements I used in my workout to help relieve it. (Quick reminder: what worked for me may not be exactly what your body needs—individualized plans matter!)

One of the biggest things I focus on is maintaining the ability to shift weight side-to-side. When we lose that, we start to see the classic “pregnancy waddle.” This shifting motion helps reduce pressure and pinching around the sacroiliac joint.

I like to start with supported movements that help restore the body’s ability to expand through this area, then follow this up with movements that improve muscular support to achieve this movement throughout my day correctly.

Think: glutes, hamstrings, abs, inner thighs.

And don’t forget about your pelvic floor—these muscles often become tense and overworked during pregnancy (understandably). Since they attach to the tailbone, they play a huge role in SI joint comfort. Learning to expand through them can be a game changer—not just for pain, but also for preparing your body for birth.

And yes—this applies even if you’re not pregnant.

Hope this gave you a few new ideas to try in your next workout and helped you better understand your body 💛

🧠 Ever feel like you’re constantly digging into your neck and shoulders just to get some relief—only for that tension to creep right back in? 😩

The problem might not be your traps… it could be your ribcage.

When your ribcage is stiff, your diaphragm can’t do its job properly - so your body cheats by using your upper traps to help pull in air. Yup, every breath becomes a mini workout for your neck and shoulders. 😬

👎🏻 That means more tension. More tightness. More discomfort that never really goes away.

💡Instead of rolling the same spots over and over, try these 2 ribcage expansion exercises to get to the root of the issue. Breathe better, move better, feel better.

Nagging tension at the base of your skull?? 😣 ❌

This can be a stubborn pain point that completely disrupts your daily life.

As a physical therapist I often find this pain point due to overuse of the upper trapezius (commonly called the upper traps) muscle group throughout the day.

The upper traps anchor or attach to the base of our skull so when they are overworked and/or tight they will increase pressure on this area of the head. Resulting in irritation and inflammation of the nerves in this area creating the headaches you feel. 😣

To fix this pain point we want to not only get the upper traps to relax, but also train the body how to KEEP them relaxed throughout your day. A great way to do this is through breath work, and improving your ability to use your diaphragm (our proper breathing muscle) while keeping the upper traps lengthened and relaxed. 👍🏻

If this sounds like you, save this video and give this exercise a try from the institute! Your body will thank you 💛!

Use the link in my bio to request a one on one assessment with me to get to the root cause of your pain! I treat patients both virtually by video call and in person in zeeland Michigan.

Dealing with pain that starts in your butt and travels down the back of your leg? 🪑➡️🦵

You might be experiencing piriformis syndrome, and it’s often caused by tightness or weakness in the back of the hip. When the piriformis muscle puts pressure on the sciatic nerve, it can lead to that discomfort you’re feeling. 😣

The good news? You can retrain your body to lengthen and release this area, reducing pressure on the nerve and easing the pain. 💪🏻✨

If this sounds like you, drop a comment below! I’ll create more videos to guide you through another exercise to feel better. 🌟
