昨夜パリに帰ってきました。思っていたより寒くはなく、灰色の空の隙間からは青空も顔をだしほっ（家は冷え冷えでしたが）、今朝買い物に出たついでに近所をぐるりとお散歩、定点観測の一枚。
羽田からシャルルドゴールに向かう機内で途中オーロラが見れた。出発のときに機長さんがアナウンスで見れるかも、と教えてくれていたのに、つい眠り込んでしまっていたら、隣の席の人の「あ、オーロラだ」の声で目が覚めた。
あわてて窓の外をのぞくと、想像していたグリーンのオーロラではなく真っ白の煙のようなものがみえて、徐々に夜空いっぱいにゆらゆらと広がっていった。
出発前夜、荷造りをしていたら父がやってきて「オーロラは見たことがあるのかい？」と聞くので「ないよ」と答えたら、昔、まだ子どもの頃、父が海外赴任でしばらく単身でケニアに住んでいたときに、ヨーロッパの乗り継ぎ便ではじめてオーロラを見た話をしてきた。もう大昔のことなのに、なぜ急にそんな話をしてきたのかはじめて聞く話だった。そして私も飛行機は何度となく乗っていたのに、昨日生まれてはじめて見ることができたオーロラ。
窓ガラスにはりついて、ゆっくりゆらゆらとカタチを変えてゆく真っ白いカーテンをじっと眺めながら、若かりし父もきっとこうして小窓にはりついて夜空を眺めていたのだ、と髭もじゃの父を想像した。（一年間のアフリカ生活から帰国した父は、髭が生えて毛むくじゃらになっていた）
だれかの記憶がまた自分の体験と重なって、記憶と記憶で繋がって受け継がれてゆくことがある。いつか忘れてしまっても、ちゃんと残る。失われず受け継がれてゆく。機内で読んだ本が、友人がクリスマスに贈ってくれた鈴木るみこさんの『ふらんすの椅子』だったこと、観た映画がアンソニー・ホプキンスの『ファーザー』だったこともあり、真っ暗の皆が寝静まった機内でひとり、なんだかそんなことをずっと考えていた。
またパリの日常、ゆっくりと再開します🏡

昨日は今年最初の、そして今回の一時帰国最後の大江戸骨董市にお立ち寄りいただきありがとうございました。いっぱい着込んで挑みましたが、ぽかぽかの太陽に照らされてあっという間の賑わいの一日となりました。
久しぶりの嬉しい再会や差し入れも、たくさんのお心遣いありがとうございました。
今年はいろいろと思うところあり、個人的にはすこし歩みを緩めてじっくりひとつひとつ向き合いながら（ますます）ひそやかに活動できたらと思っていますが、大江戸は古くからのお客さまや大先輩の業者さんの他にも海外からの方や新しい業者さんもたくさんいらして、毎回精進せねば、と刺激をもらえる場所でもあります。
年に数回の気まぐれな出店ではありますが、毎回のお声がけやお買い物いただけることは、普段日本を離れてひっそり暮らしている身には、なによりの大きな励みです。また若葉の頃に元気にお会いできますように🌿

明日は、大江戸骨董市に出店します。フランスに戻る前の最後の大江戸、今回は11月初めから約2か月半の一時帰国でしたが、展示会もあり大江戸に出店できたのは月1回ずつ。前回は空模様と相談しながらの短時間出店でしたので、もうすこし皆さまとお会いしてゆっくりアンティークをご覧いただける機会を作れたらよかったな…とすこし心残りもありますが、ひとまず明日は最後にお楽しみいただけましたら幸いです。お出かけの際は、暖かくしていらしてくださいませ。

フランス19世紀末のアルファベットやイラストが描かれた木製のブロック。積み木遊びをしながら、アルファベットをつなげて単語を作ったり、イラストの単語を覚えたりしながら学べます。
果物や動物、職業、さまざまなテーマで描かれたリトグラフのイラストが可愛らしく、並べておくだけでもわくわく。V&Aの子ども博物館にもイギリス製のブロックが展示されていましたが、こちらはパリの昔から通っているアンティークショップで見つけたもの。いつ行っても小さな店内は、おもちゃ箱の中に潜り込んだような不思議で愛しく心躍るアンティークに埋め尽くされています。
仕入れ目線だと、どうしてもお店には足が遠のきがちなのですが、やはり店主の個性や世界観を存分に楽しませてもらえるのがお店の魅力。今年はより丁寧な仕入れを心がけて、人から人へ繋がれてゆくものの温かみや心の在り処を意識した仕事ができたらと思います。

1950年代ヴィンテージの小さな木製の船模型。小さな漁船を木製のフレームの中に美しく配置したディスプレイ。棚に並べておくだけで、ほのぼのとした素朴な色彩とノスタルジックなチャーミングさに癒されます。
譲ってくれた骨董商は、ブルターニュで見つけたとのことでしたが、もしかしたらドイツ製かもしれません。フランスをはじめ、ヨーロッパではコレクターのおじさま達に大人気の船模型。蚤の市の模型専門のスタンドでは大抵いつもオタクのおじさま達の山に潜り込んで探しています。

19世紀末、リトグラフによるトールペイントの金属製トレイ。気品あるイエローのペイントに植物のガーランドと中央にChateau De Kedleston（ケドルストン・ホール＝イギリス・ダービーシャー州にある壮大なカントリーハウス）の文字、カントリーハウスとお庭で野生の鹿の親子が佇む長閑な風景の描かれた王政復古様式の装飾スタイル。
飾っておくだけでも絵になりますが、大きすぎないサイズ感は、ちょっと優雅な気分のお茶の時間に、お気に入りのアクセサリートレイに、日常的に使いやすい実用性を兼ね備えています。

夏の終わり、南仏の白い光の下、蚤の市で出会った風景画。H. Valentinとのサイン入り。（ネット情報によるとHenri Valentinという19世紀末から20世紀初頭に活躍した画家の作品として同じサインの作品が紹介されていましたが、定かではありません）
譲ってくれたお兄さんによると南仏の風景ではなく、フランス中央部辺りではないかとのこと。やわらかなブルーの空、緩やかに流れる川、緑や木々の生い茂る水辺、その向こうに広がる黄金色の丘陵地帯。ごくありふれたフランスの田舎の風景。
全体的に剥がれやヒビ、ダメージがありますが、その枯れた気配や長閑な風景は、ほっと穏やかに心を休ませてくれます。部屋の片隅にすっと馴染みそっと飾っておきたいのは、ふと部屋の窓からのぞく木々のような、日々何気なく癒してくれる存在のこうした絵なのかもしれません。

ノルマンディー地方で作られた「コフレ・ド・マリアージュ」と呼ばれる婚礼用の木箱。リネンや服飾品などの身の回り品を入れるための大きなサイズが一般的ですが、こちらはより希少な手のひらにのるほどの小さなサイズ。ビジュー（宝石やアクセサリ）、大切な手紙などが入れられていたもの。
18世紀末から19世紀半ばにかけて、主にノルマンディー地方ルーアン周辺のオージュ渓谷で作られました。花嫁の嫁入り道具を収納するために、大きな戸棚の中に保管されることを想定して作られたもの。また宝石や時計商が容れ物としても使っていたそう。
軟材にグヮッシュで素朴な花柄が手描きで描かれており、使い込まれた風合いは素朴で可憐なフォークアートの魅力を放っています。そっと部屋に置いて愛でたいフランスの古物愛好家たちにも長く親しまれたコレクターズアイテムです。

11月に帰国して駆け抜けた2ヶ月。イベントの重なる季節に、何度も足をお運びいただけたこと、心から感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
kosaji HP トップページの洗濯物写真。旧HPの頃から、ずっと変わらずのこの写真は、もう10年以上前、初めてポルトガルを訪れた際のもの。古いアパートの朽ちた壁に、仲よく並んだ誰かの洗濯物の様子に、知らない街の、ふつうの人々の生活の情景が広がり、思わず撮影したもの。旅行用の小さなカメラで画質も良くないけれど、ずっと大切な一枚。
外国の知らない街でも、遠い昔の古いモノでも、そこに誰かの生活の匂いを感じられたら、途端に自分のなにかと繋がり、心はちょっと暖かくなり、物語を感じる小さなひとつの世界となる。
まだこの仕事をはじめる前に、旅先で出会ったこの情景が、この仕事をはじめるきっかけのひとつだったように思います。
来年も、こつこつ頑張ります。
