In my work, I search for creatures and monsters in the random patterns of glazes and paints and paint them. Using this method, I create my works with the feeling that something might be there.
私は、人間が「何かいるかもしれない」と感じる感覚に興味があります。そして、その感覚によって自分の頭の中だけで作られた生き物のようなものにも興味があります。
私の作品は、釉薬や染付のランダムな模様の中から、生き物や怪物を探し出して、それを描いています。この方法で、「何かがいるかもしれない」と感じながら作品を作っています。
I take photographs with the same focus as when I remove my glasses, then draw the creatures that gradually come into view.
For this exhibition, I painted all of the emerging creatures in an illustrated scroll, and transformed several of them into three-dimensional works.
