Sunday evenings get such a bad name, right?
That โ€œugh, Monday againโ€ feelingโ€ฆ same routine, same rush, same everything.

But honestly, not for us.

For us, Sundays feel like a reset.
A little pause to look back, fix what didnโ€™t work, and get ready to do things better.

Because Mondays arenโ€™t scary โ€” theyโ€™re exciting.
New ideas, fresh prep, meetings that spark something new, and of courseโ€ฆ a bit of travel (one of the best perks of what we do).

Like they say, luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
So here we are โ€” prepping, planning, and getting ready for whatโ€™s coming next.

Sharing a few sneak peeks of what weโ€™ve been working on ๐Ÿ‘€

#mondayblues #productdesign #artisans #bamboo #rattan
1st April. New financial year.
For an entrepreneurโ€”this is basically New Year โœจ

And what a year itโ€™s been.
Messy, exciting, exhaustingโ€ฆ a full mix of mistakes, learnings, new ideas, new peopleโ€”and all the chaos in between. Some fun, some frustration, some sweet, some saltyโ€”but all of it worth it.

From North to South, East to Westโ€”weโ€™ve literally been everywhere with our work. So many installations, a few products out in the world, and yesโ€ฆ quite a few failures too. The kind no one really talks aboutโ€”but the ones that actually make you stronger for the next big hit.

And then some unreal momentsโ€”
Speaking at the National Bamboo Conclave.
My first panel at India Design.

Honestlyโ€ฆ still feels like WOW.

I remember being 23, telling friends โ€œone day you guys will see me in design magazines, on TV, everywhere,โ€ and of courseโ€ฆ laughs followed ๐Ÿ˜„
But looking back now, it just shows how important it is to dream. Like, really dream big.

Because slowly, the things that once felt impossible just becomeโ€ฆ normal.
So why not dream even bigger?

Feeling super grateful for everything weโ€™re building.
Also, truly blessed to have an amazing team and people around who help turn these dreams into reality ๐Ÿค

No clue what the future holdsโ€”but showing up with the right intent, passion, and honesty somehow always takes you where youโ€™re meant to go.

New year, new energy.
More collaborations, more learning, more creating โœจ

And hopefullyโ€ฆ a little more peace along the way ๐Ÿค

Same passion, new storiesโ€”every single time. #financialyear2026 #productdesigner #rattan #natural #grateful

The installation recalls the wandering ficus roots on Kolkataโ€™s old facades โ€” slow, persistent presences that quietly inscribe themselves into the city, at times even reshaping the streetscape. Here, the ficus becomes a metaphor for Bengalโ€™s craft cultures โ€” living veins that run through the region, binding and holding it together across time.

At its centre rests a sculptural rattan bench crafted by master artisan Nopur Parida from Joynagar. Fluid in line and tactile in presence, the form carries the quiet generosity of Kolkataโ€™s pavement life โ€” an unspoken invitation to pause, sit, and belong.

A handwoven jute tapestry by women weavers from the Gorumara region in the Duars stretches across and around it, introducing an earthen softness โ€” a landscape-like texture that feels grown rather than placed.

Encircling this core, a bamboo framework shaped in collaboration with Durga Pujo pandal artisans of Girish Park, led by Bidesh Dhara, moves lightly yet assertively through the composition. It binds the elements into a single continuous gesture โ€” structural, celebratory, alive.

Three materials. Three craft lineages across Bengal. Distinct in origin, unified in expression.

What appears organic is deeply intentional โ€” a contemporary articulation of collaboration, continuity, and collective making.

Some opportunities arrive quietlyโ€”and end up transforming everything.

When and from reached out to us to come on board as exhibit partners for their Kolkata show, it was completely unexpected. Being our first time as exhibition partners, we stepped in with a certain idea of what our role would be.

We found ourselves working across two distinct yet deeply connected aspectsโ€”first, contributing to the overall exhibition and spatial design, shaping the larger experience; and second, creating a more intimate, personalised space at the entrance, rooted in the essence of Bengal.

The space we helped build felt like a shared identityโ€”belonging to, to Kirti Jalan Design Studio, and to Bengal.

At the entrance, the installation told a story we strongly believe inโ€”of dissolving boundaries between art, craft, design, and architecture.

An experience we truly enjoyed, and one that taught us so much along the way. Pleased to have by the visionaries, to get to kolkata, and making it a great success.

Grateful to be trusted with this, and thankful for the opportunity to be part of something so special.#handmade #rattan #exhibitiondesign #jute #installation

Kirti Jalan | Speaker at ID Symposium 2026

A graduate of CEPT University, Kirti Jalan's practice operates at the intersection of architecture, furniture, and craft, focusing on human-centric and place-responsive design. Deeply influenced by Indiaโ€™s rich material culture, she works closely with artisans to create contemporary products and spatial interventions that reinterpret traditional techniques through a modern lens, prioritising ethical making and sustainable processes. Her work spans furniture, lighting, installations, and architectural projects across residential and commercial contexts, developed through a collaborative studio model in partnership with craftspeople, architects, and design communities across India.

Come and hear Kirti Jalan's talk at India Design ID from February 19-21, 2026, at NSIC Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi. Stay tuned for the full ID Symposium schedule.
