ad | The most EPIC show today in Principality Stadium. Our very first Monster Truck Show and it was SOOO GOOD! My boys had a blast.
If you plan to go make sure you’re kids have ear defenders as it was very loud! But honestly, we loved it. We were lucky enough to have Pit Party tickets too, and got to see the trucks up close before they got destroyed in the action. We’ll certainly be back next year 🤩
Let me know in the comments if you went, did you love it too?

A really easy one to do with kids or if you can’t walk too far. This route has been closed for well over a year after a storm knocked down some trees on the path, but it’s recently re-opened and I knew I had to check it out. If you cross the stream by stepping stones you can climb up the left of the fall and actually even stand behind it too 😍

My boys haven’t always been ‘walkers’. We’ve learnt along the way how to have days that are more relaxed. We haven’t always got it right and sometimes we still don’t. But these are the things I’ve found helps and I hope they help you too 🫶🏼
1. Lower your expectations
Drop the distance. If they walked, jumped in puddles and didn’t cry - it counts! Don’t go straight into a 5km walk, start small with 1-2km and gradually build up as they are ready.
2. Snacks are essential!
I’m talking the type you can bribe them with.
And always bring more than you think, then one extra,
Trust me. We try and plan our days out so we feed them a decent big snack or even lunch in the car before we start walking so they are fully fuelled up.
3. Pick walks with a reward
Waterfalls, beaches, ruins, playgrounds or cake at the end. Something that they will truly enjoy and can aim for.
4. Turn it into a mission
Bug hunts,
Stick collecting,
Puddle counting,
Instant motivation
5. Let them lead (sometimes!)
Stop the moaning by letting them have control. Even if its slower - it will keep them invested
6. Dress for chaos not aesthetics
Waterproofs, spare socks, and clothes you don’t care about. Mud will happen.
Have no regrets!
7. Give yourself extra time (this one’s a biggie)
If the route says it will take an hour, give yourself 3. There’s nothing worse than trying to force kids to walk because you have a time restraint
8. Praise everything
That hill?
Iconic.
You’re amazing!
9. Stop constantly
Rocks.Logs.Puddles.
All valid reasons.
10. Leave whilst they’re still happy
Or have an escape plan 😜
What else would you add?
