Alia Mai is a long-time student and teacher of yoga whose journey began over 15 years ago. She has studied and practiced extensively in Canada, India, Mexico and Guatemala, she is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher having completed multiple teacher trainings and deepening her understanding of yoga as a lifelong path.
In addition to her work as a yoga teacher, Alia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in private practice, specializing in trauma and anxiety. She sees yoga as a powerful bridge between mind and body - an accessible tool for nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and building a compassionate relationship with the body.
After stepping back from teaching to navigate her own journey through chronic pain, Alia returns to the mat with renewed inspiration and a deeper understanding of body mechanics. Her personal healing has enriched her teaching, bringing better alignment cues, presence, and insight into every class.
She offers Hatha Flow classes rooted in breath, alignment, and inner awareness. Alia creates inclusive and grounding spaces where students of all levels feel supported in exploring their own capacity for strength, release, and renewal.
Setting up our new home has been a wild ride (and a lot of furniture assembly). Couldn’t wait to finally show a little snap of it all coming together!
