娘が希望してきたのは、華やかな柄の振袖ではなく「色無地」でした。
そして選んだのはスワトウ刺繍の入った一枚。無地なのに、光の当たり方で刺繍の陰影がふわっと浮かび上がって、見る角度によって表情が変わる。シンプルなのに奥行きがあって、娘らしい選択だなと思いました。
21年前、まさか静岡を出てオーストラリアに住むとは思ってなかった旦那と2人、 そして子供を持つことに興味がなかった私が、ご先祖様のお導きなのか何なのか、ここで「子供を育ててみたい」と思うようになって、その翌年に生まれたのがこの子です。
そして着物を生業にするなんて夢にも思っていなかった私が、オーストラリアで着物の仕事をして、その娘に振袖を着せる日が来るなんて。人生はほんとにどう転ぶかわかりませんね。

ヘアメイクは、出産前から知っている さん。 撮影は、私が着物スタイリストとして動き出した頃に声をかけてくれたフォトグラファーの さん。 生まれる前から、そして私の仕事の始まりから、娘の成長を見届けてくれている2人に、この日を任せられたことが嬉しかったです。

息子は今日、学校のフォーマル(アメリカで言うところのプロムってやつ？ダンスパーティー的なやつ)に行きました。
子供達が段々と大きくなってもうすぐ大人になってしまいます。遊んでもらえなくなると思うと悲しいです。今のうちにたくさん遊んでもらおうと思います。
こちらの振袖はうちのレンタル商品の中でも群を抜いて個性的な子です。

そして考えてみたら12年前という事なので、最初の頃7歳で着せた子達がそろそろ２０歳の振袖撮影になってしまうのではないかという年月の経過にちょっと恐怖すら感じでいます 笑

「人に見られる場所は恥ずかしい」

という理由で、一生に一度の成人の記念を諦めてほしくない。そして、メルボルンから海を越えて日本で待ってるご家族に『こんなに立派になったよ』と報告するお手伝いがしたい――そんな想いから生まれたプランです。
男の子は「外でポーズをとるのは恥ずかしがるからスタジオでサクッと撮って欲しい」というお母様からのリクエストがめちゃくちゃ多いです。夕方以降の静かなスタジオなら、リラックスしてすぐに終わります。
これまではご要望があった時だけの「裏メニュー」として、ご希望の方にだけこっそりご案内していましたが、「この予算なら日本の家族に見せてあげられる！」「息子が恥ずかしがらずに撮らせてくれた」と大変ご好評をいただいたため、このたび正式にメニュー化いたしました。
「あのとき振袖を着られなかったから、今からでも日本の家族に写真を送りたい」という大人の方も大歓迎です。１６歳以上でしたら年齢の上限はありません。「着たい」というお気持ちを何より大切に応援します。
