Punam, June 2018 vs. Punam June 2026.

Eight years ago, almost this week, I moved the furniture around in my massive Hackney living room to make way for three trestle tables and 25 friends (and friends of friends) who booked to join my first ever Gujarati Supper Club. And this last Sunday, I was co-hosting a fabulous collab supper club for over 50 people with my dear. 💕

We’ve grown, our supper clubs have grown, but at the core, we still believe one thing to be true: it’s more than just about the food, it’s personal. THANK YOU for sticking with us for eight glorious years, and thank you to everyone who has joined us along the way. 🙏🏽

Thank you to all the team members, past and present we've had the pleasure of working with that help to make each event go without a hitch, to the family members who still help chop and roll when we're prepping at home, to all the venues, and the amazing fellow chefs and brands we've had a chance to collaborate with! 🙏🏽

To mark this occasion, we’re moving products from our KHAO STORES over to it’s own insta-page. This is where we’ll share more on our Spices and Merch so if you really love us, please give our new page a follow!

Big hugs,
Punam & the Khao team x

Where chai meets cha, and your 2 asian baddies link up ⛓️‍💥

As two chefs whose love language is feeding people, bringing our cultures, kitchens, and favourite flavours together, we knew this had to happen.

Massive love to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of tea, conversation, and community and thanks to our incredible kitchen team for making it all happen BTS, and to for the most gorgeous photos 🤍

Like all good tea gatherings, this isn’t the end but just a pause between seasons. We’ll be back with an autumn/winter tea house later this year. Until then, keep your kettle warm, and we’ll spill more tea together soon x
Experiments with Ajji’s Ghee.

Growing up, ghee has always played a core part of our daily life. We use it in cooking from sweet to savoury, in our spiritual and religious practises and even for health and wellbeing. So when I came across Ajji’s ghee, I was intrigued by their range of flavours all created with the original method of making proper desi ghee.

On Saturday 27th, I create a menu featuring ghee from their collection, alongside some new flavours created just for this special celebration menu. This week, I tested some of my recipes. To begin, we’re sharing Ghee-Seared Shrooms, mushrooms seared and cooked in Ajji’s garlic & chilli ghee. These are phenomenal! Come and enjoy these and 5 other courses with us at.

Some dishes, lately. May has been full of colour, vibrant cooking and some of the most beautiful produce we've cooked with so far this year. It's salty, smokey, and best of all, the month that reunites us again with our most beloved mangoes.

From a beautiful Still Life Supper Club to travelling up to North Yorkshire for an intimate private Birthday dinner, creating fresh takes on classics to learning new dishes for special tastings, May has been full of all the good things.

1. Homemade Kesar Mango Ice cream, topped off with fresh mango pieces.
2. Paneer canapes.
3. Purple Pav Bhaji & Tandoori cauliflower.
4. Canape tasting platter.
5. Hasta La Pista (Pistachio cheesecake).
6. Beetroot Carpaccio with whipped feta & heritage tomatoes.
7. Premi ni Thali.
8. Twice & Cooked. My take on classic orro & rotli.

On a bright Saturday afternoon, eight wonderful women joined Ananya and me for an evening of food, art, and connection. At the centre of it all was a beautiful still life display made of fruit and vegetables, thoughtfully arranged by Ananya and Christina—an inviting and playful composition ready to be reimagined in each person’s own way.

The evening flowed gently, with guests creating while sharing vibrant, flavourful snacks. There was something deeply calming about it all—almost emotionally connective in a way that’s hard to put into words. A beautiful evening of slowing down, making with our hands, and being together.

Everyone came with a different relationship to drawing and painting. Some brought years of experience, while for others it was their first time returning to sketching or painting in a very long time. It felt so special to watch everyone settle into their own rhythm, exploring colour, shape, and texture with curiosity and freedom. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and for setting the backdrop for such a magical afternoon!

KHAO STORES: a personally curated and crafted selection of items for you and your kitchen.

We've always said, if you come to a supper club and loved a dish, we'll send you the recipe. Khao has always been about sharing the dishes and recipes I have grown up eating, the flavours that I probably didnt understand then, but know all too well now.

From this very place, came about the idea to open our very own shop. A place where you can find the ingredients to recreate our recipes, but also maybe add something more to your own.

Last march we launched our Gujarati Four Spice, a blend so close to my heart. And we've loved hearing all the ways its been used! For 2026, we bring you Tandoori Masalo, our in-house blended Spice with depth and layers, ready for any recipe. We're also excited to share that this year we will be launching a selection of refill packs for those who already own the tins!

We're also in the process of bringing something very special to Khao Stores. It is the one ingredient we have been developing and sourcing for over a year but are finally seeing the end of the tunnel, more on that soon! For now, go check out our shop!

KHAO STORES PRESENTS: TANDOORI MASALO

It has been a journey, one I am so proud to have experienced as I bring you the second spice blend from our rasodu or kitchen, to yours. A spice blend with its heritage rooted in the old Peshawari kitchens, where large tandoors cooked meat until it was smoking and tender, comes the same inspiration for this recipe.

Made with an 11-spice blend recipe, and NO onion or garlic powder, our Tandoori Masalo brings a depth of flavour without any artificial colours or flavours. Just real proper spices, ground manually so you may even find a few bits of unground spice! Ideal for any kind of cooking, from vegetables to paneer or other protein you prefer.. 🥔🍄‍🟫🍗🫘

All you need to do is add a fat of your choice-we recommend a mix of oil & ghee-and salt. To really up the flavour, enhance the Masalo with freshly ground garlic, ginger and green chillies. More recipes to come!

Available to buy now from the Khao Stores shop, linked in bio!
