"Winter In The Canadian Rockies"
After a long week of mundane work and endless ten-key typing, I finally shut my laptop and left for the Canadian Rockies. What was initially going be a social photography trip with a friend ended up turning into a solo trip due to the bitter cold and a frozen water tank. Pretty soon I was in a winter wonderland all alone, with just my camera and a curiosity to see a familiar place in a different light.
Over the next few days, I revisited old locations and drove down the same roads I had traveled years before. Being alone this time around gave me the opportunity to take my time in each place and see so much more. I gained an even deeper appreciation for the Rockies in the winter.
From small snow shadows and windswept motifs beneath my feet, to quiet aspen groves and charred forests across the valley, to grand mountains towering above me catching the faintest bit of light; I was surrounded by so much beauty. Familiar landscapes felt brand new, and each moment offered something I had somehow missed before.

Hey everyone! I'm a bit late to the party but I am finally ready to share some aurora images created during that incredible storm we had back in May of 2024. That was such a lovely and exciting night, one I'll never forget! I couldn't have ever imagined seeing such a strong aurora in Washington so I'm very grateful I was able to experience it. You can find the rest of the images on my website, link in bio. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I'm excited to announce I have a new gallery release, "Yellowstone Impressions." This small collection consists of images taken in Yellowstone in the summer of 2021. and I took a road trip to Wyoming and spent a very short amount of time in Yellowstone but it was such a good time and a place that I would love to return to. I remember going to Yellowstone with my family as a kid and having so much fun. It was nice to be back for the first time in so long and having the opportunity to create some images. I loved photographing all of the interesting textures, patterns, and colors, observing the wildlife, and just appreciating all of the varying beauty in a national park like this.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to share my most favorite image I've taken but for those who have been on my "Favorites" gallery on my website, purchased a calendar, or gone to a market I've vended at, you've seen this one. This is a favorite mainly due to the fact that I love wolves and this was one of those moments where we were just in the right place at the right time. We went to this overlook in Yellowstone to see these springs during sunrise but we actually couldn't see much of it due to all the smoke from the geyser and the difference in temperature. I was, however, able to photograph these beautiful patterns and that was enough for me! I started to pack up my gear and my fiancé started to point and freak out saying how there is a wolf down below (she loves wolves more than I do). I quickly grabbed my camera and took a few photos before it ran off in the distance.
From what I read, this isn't a typical place to see the wolves. It is a very popular area so I can see why they wouldn't typically hang out around there. I had no reason to believe we'd see a wolf on that trip so the fact that I was able to come away with this image is pretty special.
Anyways, I'll be sharing more of the images on here throughout the month but I recommend going to my website and looking at them all (ideally on a large screen). Link is in the bio. Let me know if any speak to you! Thanks!
For many years I used to get so caught up in capturing the scene I originally had envisioned that I would miss all these other opportunities around me. Once I learned to let go of that, photography became so much more enjoyable and fulfilling.
For this backpacking trip in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, one of the photographs I was hoping for was of these mountains reflecting in a calm alpine lake. After hiking 11 miles and climbing close to 5000 feet, I reached the top and realized the chances of capturing that were slim. We were engulfed in fog, couldn’t see anything around us, and there was too much wind.
Throughout the evening and entire night these mountains were hidden and no pictures were taken however during sunrise the clouds finally began to part, revealing these impressive peaks. I decided not to walk down to the lake but instead focus on these two mountains that really commanded the scene and my attention. The conditions were magical but quickly fleeting. Despite this being nothing I originally anticipated, I couldn’t have been happier photographing this scene out in the backcountry. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️
