The softest handknit sweaters, crafted in Italy from Scottish lambswool 🧶

I worked with a small workshop in Italy on these and they’re made using the traditional technique of needles. The craftmanship is really so beautiful ~ each stitch is meticulous.

The mill used natural vegetable dyes for the yarn, which produces gorgeous colours. They’re so cosy and warm too.

I sadly can no longer get these beauties produced, as the handknit factory in Italy closed, due to all of their knitter retiring. It’s an artform that has faded away a little, which makes my last pieces feel even more special.

I have one of each of the below;

~ French Navy Scoop Neck

~ Pale grey Cable Knit

~ Black roll neck with full sleeves

~ Pink roll neck with full sleeves

~ Black sleeveless roll neck

There’s been so much happening within our home renovation & behind the scenes of my interiors business that I often find myself hitting a wall of what to post first. Which can stop me from posting anything, really….

But today, I took a step back and realised that I’m mistaking overwhelm by something that’s actually pretty wonderful. So much to share, work on & so much to come.

I’ve realised many times over the last few years, that I like to do things in my own time. As really, what’s the rush…

So here’s a little peek of our first floor hallway. It’s evolved since this photo was taken a couple of months ago.

But I thought I would still share it, as I love every piece & every decision (and there are SO many decisions just within this shot ~ IYKYK).

I hope you love this sweet corner as much as I do 🕊️
What do you think of our ‘Simple Life Dress’?

When I first began my career in fashion, one-of-a-kind pieces had my heart. I became obsessed with exquisite fabrics and the romance of French lace...

My aim, when I founded my own label, was to use these exceptional materials, but to offer them at prices far more accessible than the well-known luxury houses using similar quality fabrics.

Many of the fabrics and trims within my collections are designed by me and produced by the same French, Italian, and UK mills that create for some of the world’s most high-end and couture designers.

This approach has only ever been possible by working with very small margins, but fabric has always been at the very core of what I do. It’s the starting point for every style, and I honestly couldn’t imagine designing any other way.

The ‘Simple Life Dress’ was crafted using two of these incredible fabrics. A heavy weight silk crepe and a delicate French lace, that’s so beautiful, it almost makes your heart ache 🕊️

Happy New Year✨

Feeling so refreshed after two, dreamy weeks of cooking, catching up with friends, reading, board games, films, baking, & cosy evenings out.

Starting the year by sharing a snippet from a shoot of our main bathroom.

When we began our renovation journey, we knew that designing and commissioning one-of-a-kind pieces that were unique to our home, was going to be one of our favourite aspects of the project. It’s something we’ve now done time and time again, and one of these pieces was our vanity.

Initially, I had hoped to source an antique cabinet, however as we had such a strong sense of what we were looking for, along with incredibly specific size requirements, having our design made, ended up being the best option.

When we started considering the vanity, we had already sourced an exquisite slab of marble for the top & basins, so we knew a raw oak would complement this perfectly. So much of our home is inspired by my Australian upbringing and love of calm, natural interiors, so the pale colours of everything felt like it reflected this so well.

With the finish in mind, I had been searching for antique sideboards & cabinets with barely twist legs, as this detail echoed the existing ceiling cornicing in the room. So we knew this would be the starting point for our design.

From there, practicality came into play. As the vanity would be the only storage in the room, it needed ample drawer space, yet we also didn’t want the piece to feel heavy or resemble a chest of drawers. Leaving as much space as possible between the drawers and the floor would be key to ensuring we kept to our light & airy vision.

For the drawer design, I’d noticed some delicately moulded, slightly protruding drawers on a few antique pieces & felt this subtle feature would tie in perfectly with the more decorative legs.

The handles were another key feature that took months to source. I wanted something unique, that felt special from both front & side, as the vanity is visible side-on when you walk up the stairs. The rich, dark bronze complements the pale oak & stone perfectly, while remaining delicate enough to not detract from the overall piece.

Our 120 year old home looking ever so fresh 🍋

For the past three months, my love (and sometimes me, but mainly him 🤭) worked tirelessly on weekends and in the evenings, often in the freezing cold, rain and darkness to restore the front of this beautiful, old house.

The scaffolding came down yesterday & we honestly stood in awe. The transformation is really quite something.

Swipe to see the day we purchased the house.

What a difference restored bricks & stone, a beautiful paint colour, plus new sash windows and curtains can make.

Onto the front door and garden next, but that can wait. Looking forward to a well needed break over Christmas and New Year 💛

French Onion Sourdough ~ generously laced with caramelised onion, two types of cheese, oregano, and cayenne pepper for a little spice 🤌🏼

If you scroll to the end, you’ll see the journey of how sourdough is made. I’ve been making it for around eight years now, and it’s such a lovely, therapeutic hobby.

That moment when you cut into a slightly warm loaf and enjoy a slice with butter, is a tiny moment of heaven that I’ll never tire of…

The best part of it all, of course, is that our mornings often start like this ~ fresh, warm bread served with avocado and feta, or scrambled eggs and steaming hot cups of tea.

Have you tried making it before?

This particular flavoured loaf is a favourite of ours. The combination of ingredients is incredible, and the bread turns out so pillowy inside, with a perfectly crisp crust.

~ The best part

~ A crispy, golden crust

~ Scoring & ready for the oven

~ Before resting in the fridge overnight

~ The final shape

~ Before shaping

~ The best flavours

~ Caramelising the onions

~ Bubbly levain

A very special birthday weekend 🥰

Back home after the most blissful few days away…

A couple of nights at brunch at my favourite places, a night at the theatre seeing (one of the best plays we’ve seen ~ we both loved it so much), hanging out in the spa, hours spent reading by the pool, so much delicious food and the best company.

It’s always so nice to stay within your own city ~ that lovely combination of minimal travel, yet still feeling like you’ve had a holiday.

Feeling very spoilt by my love, so relaxed + just incredibly lucky to live in this amazing city 💛

After working on the front of our house all day, it’s so lovely to leave the dust behind, and come into a cosy home 🤌🏼

The fire is now on, my love is making negronis & dinner is cooking…

Dream situation anytime really, but even more so after a hard days work!

Hope everyone has a relaxing Saturday night ahead of them 🤎

What do you think of our Blue Days Dress?

I often imagine that fashion shoots, to those who haven’t been involved in them, can seem a little impersonal. Is that how you see them?

Having been a designer for so long, when I see a photograph from a collection, I can’t help but think of the immense amount of work behind it. The quiet persistence, behind the beauty...

The initial vision, the hours spent sketching and sourcing fabric, agonising over the smallest details, deciding on trims, buttons and zips, the pattern cutting, the making, and the fittings that take place, until the proportions are just right.

After everything, that moment when an idea becomes tangible, really is extraordinary. There’s nothing quite like it.

Then comes the wonderful process of putting a team together ~ a photographer, model, make up artist, hair stylist and a venue. Weeks of casting models and scouting for venues, until everything falls into place. The collection is then styled into complete looks, with footwear and accessories chosen to bring everything together.

Finally, the day of the shoot arrives. A perfect harmony of months of work coming together. Shoots are always completely exhausting and utter magic, all at once (IYKYK).

Photos are chosen from hundreds of shots, hours of editing takes place, a lookbook is put together and just like that, a body of work is ready to show.

A photograph from a shoot is never really just an image. It’s like looking at an artists finished canvas ~ so much of the designer or artist is right there, in every single detail 🕊️

The view when you walk up the stairs to our third floor 🤌🏼

The depth and height within our newly built, landing wall, allowed us to add two elegant shelves.

We later added marble inserts, that were off-cuts from our kitchen worktop.

I love how they break up the drenched colour and add so much beauty to a space, that could have been a flat, sweeping wall.

A hand crafted vessel with a glossy, garnet glaze, catches the light so wonderfully throughout the day.

While the sun that comes after the rain creates beautiful movement, beneath the huge skylight.

I have so much appreciation for this beauty that surrounds us, after living within the chaos of a renovation 🤎
