Later that year I raced Bolton 2023 and qualified for Kona. I couldn’t accept the slot at the time but promised myself I would one day.
I created this account. I trained hard and I raced harder and 2.5 years after my first, I raced my 5th in Florida.
I came in at a time 10:29:44. 2nd in my AG and 4th overall. I didn’t qualify at the time but thanks to the changes implemented by Ironman (with a massive helping hand from and many others!) i was offered my slot.
I got the email whilst sat on a train 🥹 back where it all began.

Celebrating tonight then tomorrow THE ROAD TO KONA BEGINS 🌺
2nd 30-34 and 4th overall. My first podium.
I’ll do a proper debrief later this week but I just wanted to address everyone asking - no this did not get me a Kona slot. 9/55 slots went to women, none of which were from the performance pool. I was ranked 100th and the slots rolled down to 59th.
I’m very open on here about my goal to race Kona one day but I just wanted to say that I’m okay. I came what I set out to do in this race. I wanted a sub 10:30 and I bloody got a sub 10:30 and I’ve had so many messages from women who have felt inspired. You’ve all watched me grow from a beginner to where I am now and to me, Kona isn’t the most important goal. It’s to keep inspiring, motivating and educating.
Only up from here. I’m on cloud 9 and you bet I’m going to be chasing a sub 10 next year 😉

And the biggest thanks of all to who told me the day before to believe in myself as much as everyone else does. Those words stuck with me for 140.6 miles in the Florida sunshine ☀️
What a day! The choppiest swim ever, the winds on the bike were brutal and probably the hardest but favourite marathon I’ve run.
The crowds support was absolutely phenomenal and I’m so lucky to have had so many family and friends there to cheer me on.
My official time was 14 hour 31 mins and 30 seconds. I QUALIFIED FOR KONA 🌺 I can’t accept the place but still to say I qualified on my first ever IM race is amazing.
