Before that, I honestly wasn’t an outdoor person. I didn’t like hiking, I didn’t really get the appeal, and I had very little desire to explore the outdoors!
Zion didn’t just change that, it flipped something in me! It was the first time I realized how quiet your mind can get when you’re surrounded by cliffs. The first time I felt proud of my body for what it could do, not how it looked. The first time I came home from a trip feeling like I had actually reconnected with myself, not just escaped for a few days.
Since then, my idea of travel has completely shifted. I don’t just want cute cafés and city views anymore (although I still like that too) I want dirt on my shoes, sore legs, early mornings, big skies, and places that make you feel small in the best way.
Zion showed me that adventure doesn’t have to be extreme to be meaningful. Sometimes all it takes is one place to quietly change how you see the world and now I look for that feeling everywhere I go❤️

2️⃣Singhampton Caves & Lookout, Nottawasaga Lookout Provincial Nature Preserve, Singhampton 🥾Length: 3.7km ⛰Elevation: 138m 💪Difficulty: Moderate ‼️Tip: Make sure to wear crampons. It can be tough getting in and out of the caves portion of the hike!
3️⃣The Grotto via Marr Lake, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Tobermory 🥾Length: 3.7km ⛰Elevation: 88m 💪 Difficulty: Easy-Moderate ‼️Tip: Don’t miss the parks visitor center! Check for hours during the winter but it’s a great place to warm up and learn about the park!
4️⃣Bass Lake Loop, Orilla 🥾Length: 2.9km ⛰ Elevation: 123m 💪 Difficulty: Easy ‼️Tip: Go to Mariposa Market afterwards for lunch!
5️⃣West Creek Trail Loop, Barrie 🥾Length: 3.4km ⛰ Elevation: 97m 💪 Difficulty: Easy ‼️Tip: The snow can be pretty deep here. Make sure to wear proper gear so you don’t get wet!

2️⃣Tickle Cove Sea Arch, Tickle Cove (near Bona Vista) 🥾Length: 800m ⛰Elevation: 36m 💪 Difficulty: Easy ‼️Tip: Bring a blanket and watch the beautiful water on the coast.
3️⃣Southeast Brook Falls, Gros Morne National Park
🥾Length: 800m
🏔️Elevation: 14m
💪Difficulty: Easy
‼️Tip: Follow the forest bathing signs for a relaxing experience!
4️⃣Mad Rocks, Bay Roberts 🥾Length: 5.3km ⛰Elevation: 91m 💪Difficulty: Easy ‼️Tip: Stop at the Mad Rocks Cafe for a delicious meal!
5️⃣Governors Staircase/Lookout Trail, Blow Me Down Provincial Park 🥾Length: ~500m ⛰ Elevation: Unsure but you’re basically just climbing stairs the entire time so it’s a tough one! 💪 Difficulty: Hard ‼️Tip: Head over to the Lark Harbour Tilt Coffee & Lodging House for some delicious coffee!
6️⃣Cedar Cove Path, Lark Harbour 🥾Length: 3.7km ⛰Elevation: 82m 💪Difficulty: Moderate ‼️Tip: Wear sturdy shoes. There’s lots of uneven terrain/tree roots!
7️⃣Cobblers Path, Torbay (near St. John’s)
🥾Length: 11.9km
⛰Elevation: 1098m 💪Difficulty: Hard ‼️Tip: We only did a small portion of this hike. We parked at the end of Doran’s Lane and started there.

The Irish Loop is one of the most scenic coastal drives in Canada! Here are a few must visit spots on the Irish Loop:
📍Cape Spear Lighthouse: The easternmost point in North America with unreal cliffside views! Although not technically apart of the loop, it’s a great way to start the day. Wake up early to see the first sunrise in North America!
📍Petty Harbour–Maddox Cove: On the way to the loop stop at this stunning fishing village. Colourful homes tucked into a dramatic harbour!
📍Bay Bulls: Prime spot for whale and puffin watching tours! Tours will take you to Witless Bay Ecological Reserve (the largest Atlantic puffin colony in North America)
📍Tors Cove: Hike the Tinkers Point Path for peaceful coastline views!
📍 La Manche Provincial Park: Hike to th famous suspension bridge and take in the beauty of this peaceful park!
📍Ferryland: This quiet town is a great stop along the loop. Hike to the Ferryland Lighthouse!
📍St. Vincent’s Beach: This has to be the best stop along the route. Bring a blanket and keep an eye out for humpback whales. During capelin season (June to August) the humpbacks come very close to shore!

In my younger years, I had the opportunity to go on some amazing trips with my family! From Scotland to Jamaica, my wanderlust developed at a young age.
Alongside my love for exploration, I also developed a love for history while studying at Nipissing University! I spent 3 years studying here and eventually moved back to Toronto, to attend Teachers College at the University of Toronto. While I thought I was going to become a teacher, I changed my path and started working full time at an animal hospital!
Flash forward to about a year and a half ago I decided to take a break from the 9-5, start this page, and travel to some amazing places! I got to see some bucket list destinations, from Banff to the Swiss alps, it was one of the best years of my life.
Although I loved my time off, I decided to go back to the 9-5 and balance my life of adventure with my love for working with animals!
My story is about embracing the thrill of new experiences, whether in far-off lands or right here at home. It’s a journey of self-discovery, growth, and the pursuit of happiness.
I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have joined me on this path and for the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
