I get the outrage that comes from witnessing the world’s grief and suffering, but outrage is not the same as contribution. That was hard for me to learn after 20 years in human rights and advocacy.

Yes, we need to name what is broken and unjust. But if we stay only in reaction then our grief can become paralysis and our anger can become performance.

The deeper question isn’t only: what must we oppose? It is: what must we build?

And who must we become in order to build it?

I wrote more on this topic over in my Substack piece entitled “How to respond to the darkness of the world”. Let me know if you read it and what you think!

I think this is my favourite piece so far 😭 I feel so deeply about this because I know it’s what the world needs. I know we are not happy with the status quo. I know we deserve more joy, connection, and love. I know every person has the right to a life of dignity and to be held in the embrace of true community. But I also know all of these require patient effort, sacrifice, and the prioritisation of principle over convenience.

I wrote this with a lot of passion and heart. I hope it’s of service to you.

Thank you for being here.

True friendship may be one of the most needed spiritual practices of our time.

People are lonelier than ever before and so we need connection more than ever before. And while it’s easy to have an opinion about community and belonging, it may feel unclear or too hard to practice it.

I think real community requires us all to become the kinds of people who are willing to be inconvenienced by love.

To do the hard thing or tired thing. Like the things that ask us to make room for others, to build trust, to show up again, and to serve through repeated acts, not just one-off gestures.

I explore some initial thoughts on the nature of true friendship in community building and will write more about it later this week in my Substack.

A free-flowing list of things I’ve noticed to be true and helpful lately, and encouraging you all to do the same.

Contentment comes from cultivating a posture of gratitude in life and true gratitude comes from paying attention to the little and big things.

Would love to know what life lessons, special moments and little joys you would add to your list.

I heard these words written by and it shifted my relationship to creating on this platform. I have no doubt many of you need it too.

CREATE! In whatever spaces, whichever forms, and at whatever level you are at. Create to honour yourself as an active participant in this world. And while you do it, try and enjoy ☺️

Enjoy enjoy enjoy. And tell me your favourites! PLEASE!
As I search for my own words, may these words be of service to you. ✨ Tell me, which one did you need? I would love to know.
In uncertain times, I’m less interested in what’s breaking down and more in what helps us build lives of meaning, service, and connection—especially for children.

I wrote this piece for on why spiritual education matters, now more than ever.

Friends, we need to remember who we truly are. And we need to draw on that remembrance to be of greater service to others. I love you.
