It starts with photographing elopements in stunning Queenstown where I liveβ & no capturing love stories amongst these mountains never gets old!
Between weddings, I love the simple things: like long walks around Lake Hayes (my go-to) to clear my head
Then, itβs back to the office to edit those memories, often with a good podcast to keep me company. Lately, itβs been business pods but also, School of Greatness, and
And when the week wraps up, itβs time to head to my happy placeβour new beach Airbnb,
After the buzz of queenstown itβs the best place to fully relax and recharge for the week ahead.

What fascinated me the most is that each year, when 500,000 whales migrate from Antarctica, they create a unique song and sing it all the way to Tonga, where they give birth and spend 3-4 months with their calves. Whatβs even more magical is that the next year, they make up a completely different songβmind-blowing!
our retreat was hosted by our yoga guru & we stayed at the beautiful which had the most amazing food.

Our 6 week Asian trip took a turn for the worse when
Our one-year-old lost his thumb in a slammed door at our villa.
It was like a scene from a movie with me running out onto the beach screaming for help and a harrowing half hour ambulance ride to the hospital. The emergency surgery he needed was expertly handled by Koh Samui hospital who were so friendly and so professional thank god
& What could have been a $12k expense was fully covered by our travel insurance.
We also had a car accident while on Samui, but thankfully, we werenβt hurt.
A reminder to never forget to book it.

Romy for the cutest smiley face gel nails,
Went on a day trip to Thailand's highest point,
Explored the serene twin pagodas,
Also explored a local market with creepy crawlys π·
Took a peaceful 2-hour hike down through lush jungle (saw a snake too! π),
Crossed bamboo bridges, wandered through rice fields and coffee plantations,
Indulged in an incredible 8-course homemade Thai feast,
Couldn't get enough of the Khoi Soi at Katβs Kitchen,
Ended the night with a wild Tuk Tuk party ride back home! π

I would have loved to have gone tipsy πΊtubing down the river with the 20 year olds but alas travel with kids is done in a slightly more pg manner so bamboo bridges and street food binges it was.
Unfortunately I did pay for that one and ended up vomiting the whole drive back to chiang Mai all 762 of them!

I had pre organised a private tour with pon from untouched Thailand and it was such a special experience having the girls all to ourselves π
The elephants careers are called mahouts and they literally spent 24 hours a day with each elephant helping them to find food.

From hidden gems to must-try local cuisine, I'll be sharing it all!

Am I the only one who gets overly excited about organising an overseas adventure?
Once those flights are booked, my inner explorer kicks into gear. I spend hours diving into travel blogs, binge-watch vlogs, and devouring every morsel of wisdom on TripAdvisor forums.
Why? Because I'm determined to create the most unforgettable vacay for my fam, filled with epic memories.
And let's not forget my obsession with finding the quirkiest Airbnbs out there. Bonus points if it's a treehouse!
Once all the details are sorted, it's time to unleash my organisation skills. Packing lists, shopping for essentials, you name itβI love it all.
What are your go to resources for travel planning?

π± Practice, practice, practice! Grab any willing volunteers - friends, neighbors, family - and start capturing their beautiful moments. Working with different subjects will help you discover your style and find your photographic groove.
π± Focus on a specific genre. Instead of trying to master every aspect of photography, find your niche and become exceptional at it. Whether it's weddings, landscapes, or portraits, hone your skills in one area and make it your own.
π± Immerse yourself in tutorials. Dive into the vast ocean of knowledge on YouTube. Platforms like Skillshare,, and CreativeLive are also treasure troves of photography tutorials. Learn from the pros and expand your skill set.
π± Invest in Lightroom for editing. While phone apps are handy, they can only take you so far. Lightroom offers powerful editing tools and allows you to elevate your photos to the next level. It's worth the investment.
π± Master manual mode. While auto mode is a great starting point, true artistry lies in playing with settings like aperture to create that dreamy bokeh effect in the background. Embrace manual mode and unlock the full potential of your camera.
Once you've nailed these fundamentals, it's time to share your incredible work with the world through Instagram! π
That's my two cents, peeps!
Do you have any other valuable tips to add to this list? I love that insta is such a supportive community where we can all grow and learn together!

As an experienced elopement wedding photographer, I have captured some breathtaking elopements in New Zealand's most stunning locations.
Two of my favourite elopement locations are Coromandel Peak and Coronet Peak/Skippers Canyon. Coromandel Peak is a helicopter location, where you'll take off from Queenstown and fly over the Southern Alps to the peak, where you'll be surrounded by towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. The views from up there are absolutely stunning and make for some incredible wedding photos.
Coronet Peak/Skippers Canyon, on the other hand, is a location you can drive to. This area is known for its rugged beauty, with jagged mountain peaks and deep valleys. The scenery is simply breathtaking, and you'll feel like you're the only two people in the world as you exchange your vows in this serene location.
Whether you're dreaming of a helicopter adventure πor a road trip πto a stunning mountain location, let's make your elopement dreams come true!
