A work I once painted of Guan Yu has now become part of a client’s company signage and business cards.
The original piece hangs in their home entrance, but seeing the artwork continue to live and work in so many different places brings me deep joy as an artist.
More than anything, I’m grateful for the long connections and conversations that continue through my art.

J’ai l’honneur de figurer dans ce numéro spécial.

À mes débuts en tant que peintre, on m’avait lancé un défi: « Achète ce magazine et étudie-le avant de prétendre être une artiste. »

VERSACEのワークショップパーティーにご招待いただきました
ずっとヴェルサーチの世界観が大好きだったので
シャンパンやケーキをいただきながらその世界に浸れるのが幸せすぎました。
当日ブラックのドレスを着て行ったのですが、
会場で新作のドレス、靴、ネックレス一色コーディネートして用意してくれたので
言われるがまま着させてもらいました🪽
金を施したオフホワイトのシルクのドレス、
そしてバッグ一つにしてもどれも美しく無駄がなく自分の一部のようにすら感じてしまいました笑
急遽会場で私のパフォーマンスができなくなったのは残念でしたが
洗礼されたこの場所にいられた事は私の人生をまた一つ豊かにしてくれた気がします。
これから描く私の絵にまた美しく反映していくと感じます
PS. VERSACEのお土産がデカくて驚きました笑

I attended a Versace workshop party with mikihouse Paris, who always helps me.
I've always loved Versace's world, so I was so happy.
At the venue, they coordinated new dresses, shoes, and necklaces for me.
The gold-accented off-white dress and the bag were beautiful I felt as if they were part of me.
It was unfortunate that my performance at the venue had to be canceled at the last minute, but being in this refined place enriched my life once again.
I feel this experience will beautifully reflect in the paintings I create from now on.

ロストバゲージして2着の大切な龍の着物の作品を失い、
喪失感の中、
荒々しい新たな龍を静かに誕生させた増田薫。
ーーその日
私の大好きな
龍見夫婦と共に窪塚洋介さんと食事の日でした。
窪塚さんと龍見夫婦はロストバゲージの件を
“のちに自分の元に大きなものとなって返ってくる
その龍の着物が今自分ではどうやっても手が届かないような凄い場所にいってくれてる”
と
光がさすような言葉をくれて…
私自身それだけでも嬉しかったのですが
新たな龍が偶然この日に仕上がったこともあり、
家を出る時リュックに入れて持ってきていたので
デザートのあとお披露目すると
"荒ぶったいにしえの龍みたい、
最古な感じがする！"
とみんな言ってくれて、
その場で羽織ってくれました。涙
え、もうさっそくミラクル起きてるやん笑
あまりにも似合いすぎてて丈もぴったりでそれにも驚きました。
プラスに変えてくれた事に
龍見夫婦と窪塚さんには感謝でいっぱいです。

After losing two precious dragon kimono pieces in lost baggage,
I felt a deep emptiness.
But from that loss, a new, fierce dragon quietly came to life — created by Kaoru Masuda.
That day,
I had dinner with my friends and Yosuke Kubozuka.
When I told them what happened, they said,
“It will come back to you as something even greater — maybe it’s already gone somewhere amazing you couldn’t reach yourself.”
Their words brought light to my heart.
Coincidentally,
the new dragon piece was finished that same day,
so I showed it to them after dessert.
Everyone said, “It looks like an ancient, powerful dragon!”
They tried it on
and it fit perfectly.
It felt like a small miracle.
I’m so grateful to Kubozuka-san and friends couple for turning my loss into light.

大西政務官にお渡しさせていただきました。
さっそく政務官室に展示していただき
私自身、胸が熱くなり、心が震えました。
自分が昔から尊敬し、敬意を持って描き続けていた事、
その根源である防衛省に私の想いが通じた事、
大変光栄で誇りに思います。
背筋が伸びる思いです。
これを機に、またたくさん作品を残して
私も大切な人を守り、
誰かを助けることができる画家になりたいと思います！

It was a great honor and I am proud of it.
