1️⃣ Wash the rice
Take rice in a bowl. I am using 1½ cups of rice.
Wash with cold water at least 7–8 times (not once, not twice).
This removes excess starch and prevents sticky rice.
You’ll clearly see the difference between the 1st wash and the 8th wash.
2️⃣ Soak the rice
Leave the washed rice soaked in clean water for at least 30 minutes.
After soaking, strain the water completely.
3️⃣ Boil the rice
In a pot or karahi, add:
• Soaked & strained rice
• Double the water (2 cups water for 1 cup rice)
• A pinch of salt
• 2 tsp oil
Cook on high flame for 5–7 minutes until the water starts boiling.
4️⃣ Steam on low heat
After 5–7 minutes, reduce the heat to extremely low, cover with a lid,
and let it cook for 15 minutes.
5️⃣ Rest & fluff
Turn off the heat.
Open the lid and gently fluff the rice with a fork.
🍚 Perfect, fluffy, separate rice is ready to serve!

👉 Always use double the water compared to rice

• 1 cup rice → 2 cups water
