A long bank holiday weekend filled with (lots of) good food, late conversations, sunshine, movie dates, laughter that makes your stomach hurt, and the people who make ordinary days feel special 🤍

Everyone in London was thrilled about the heatwave, barring this Delhi girl having flashbacks of intense heat and realising that adulting is accepting I will simply never romanticise this kind of weather ☀️🫠

Still very, very grateful for all of it! #bankholiday #sunnylondon

The Indian cookware edit!
While I love modern cookware, there’s something incredibly special about the history, craftsmanship and beauty of traditional Indian metals like copper, brass and kansa.
Loved spending time at in GK1 M Block Market, Delhi — learning about the purpose behind each metal, the artistry of the karigars, and the traditions that still quietly live on in Indian kitchens…all of it explained so beautifully by the store manager, whose passion and knowledge made the experience even more special!

Also… slightly regretting my luggage allowance because I wanted to bring half the shop home with me:)

Episode 6 - What do I feed my kids?
I still remember trying sushi for the first time at 13 in Singapore.
Now my not-even-five-year-old eats seaweed and sushi rice like it’s dal chawal 😭
This sushi bake is firmly on regular rotation in our house. All the flavours of sushi, significantly less effort, and fun for the kids to eat!

Finally made it to the Le Creuset Factory to Table sale in the UK 🇬🇧

The sale ran from 8th–10th May at Farnborough International Exhibition Centre with up to 60% off Le Creuset pieces… and as someone who didn’t own a single Le Creuset item before this weekend, things escalated quickly 😅

Question is… can you guess how much I spent? #lecrueset #factorytotablesale #ukmum
What do I feed my kids… when I need something quick, comforting, and guaranteed to get eaten?
Prawns today, but this base works beautifully with tofu, chicken, or even boiled eggs.
Served ours with rice and quick asparagus on the side.
And please tell me your children also come with oddly specific food rules 😂

Ingredients

* Prawns
* Turmeric
* Black Pepper
* Salt
* Lime juice

For the sauce:
* Coconut oil
* Mustard seeds (optional)
* Curry leaves
* Onion
* Tomato paste
* Curry powder
* Coriander powder
* Turmeric
* Coconut milk

Method

Marinate the prawns with turmeric, black pepper, salt, and lime juice and set aside.

Heat coconut oil in a pan, then add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and onions. Cook till translucent. Add tomato paste and spices and cook until fragrant. Add a little water if the masala sticks to the bottom of the pan.

Pour in a can of coconut milk and let the sauce simmer gently. Add a splash of water only if needed to loosen the consistency.

Add the prawns and cook until just done. 5 minutes Max.

For the asparagus, add to a very hot pan with olive oil and cook until slightly charred but still crunchy. Finish with sea salt.

Serve everything with rice and try not to let anything touch if your child has very strong opinions about plating 😌 #weeknightmeals #prawncurry

Episode 6 of Chutneys of India — thecha from Maharashtra, one of the spiciest chutneys out there. Traditionally eaten with something as simple as dal, rice or bhakri, because a chutney like this does all the heavy lifting. But in my London kitchen, it’s going straight into a bowl of noodles — think chilli oil, but with an Indian kick. And trust me… not for the faint hearted!

In a hot pan with very little oil roast green chillies, garlic, roasted peanuts, stem part of fresh coriander and salt. Transfer into a mortar and pestle, add coriander leaves and form it into a coarse, textured chutney — don’t over-blend. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped garlic and spring onions and let them sizzle, then stir in a spoonful of thecha. Add cooked udon noodles along with a splash of soy sauce and green chilli sauce, toss everything together until glossy and well coated, and finish with spring onions and sesame seeds if you like.

You probably wouldn’t expect walnut chutney on a cheese board… but hear me out.

Episode 3 of Chutneys of India takes me to Kashmir. My dad’s side of the family is Kashmiri, and this walnut chutney is a staple there — though every household makes it slightly differently. Some people add yoghurt (my grandmother probably did), but I’ve kept mine simple: just soaked walnuts, green chillies, soaked red chillies, garlic and salt, all pounded in a mortar until thick and textured. A quick soak softens the walnuts so they grind beautifully, and the chutney keeps well in the fridge for about a week, getting deeper in flavour over time. Traditionally it’s eaten with rice or flatbread, but today I paired it with crisp apple and salty cheese — and trust me, that combination just works. #chutney #kashmiri #walnut #indianflavours
