This course felt deeply special because it brought together two of my greatest passions: spirituality and psychology. Albert Ellis gave humanity such a profound gift through REBT - a counselling model that mirrors so much of the wisdom found in the spiritual teachings I’ve held close to my heart over the years.
I truly couldn’t have asked for a better teacher than Dr. Minnu to guide us through this journey. This wasn’t just theory - we lived the model in real time.
There were moments I felt completely overwhelmed, wondering how I would manage coursework, assignments, reading material, exams, work, and single parenting all at once. But somewhere along the way, this experience stretched me, softened me and made me aware of my resilience. It pushed me to confront old patterns, question long held limiting beliefs and meet myself with greater honesty and compassion.
What I loved most was that this journey asked for more than intellectual understanding. It asked for vulnerability, reflection, courage and real inner work. Some moments were deeply confronting, others incredibly healing and many quietly changed the way I see myself and others.
What a journey this has been! And if I may say so myself, I feel deeply proud of the person who emerged on the other side of it. I now move through life with far more acceptance of myself, of others, and of life itself in all its frailty, fallibility, and beauty ❤️
