Drew this back in April, wanted to do a piece for the #pocahontas30thanniversary, because this film will always be one of the most beautiful pieces of animation ever made to me. I’ve always loved the many messages within this movie, and though I know that there is, today, quite a lot of controversy behind it, I refuse to lean into this and just enjoy the sheer beauty of it. Also, the music…. There aren’t many films whose music have touched me so much… can we talk about Grandmother Willow’s “Listen With Your Heart” or ‘s version of “Colors Of The Wind”? 😭😭😭 so yeah, just a little tribute piece, which I’ve had a lot of fun with, and I’m glad I’m finally posting it!

Going for a repost today! This is one of my favorite drawings of 2024, and since I didn’t have time to doodle a new Stitch piece to celebrate the live action’s release, I thought I might as well give this one a second chance! 😁

What can I say, I’m not one for the live action #disney remakes, I mean I go see all of them but I rarely LOVE them… but this one, ohhhh this one hit home! I know, the whole of the internet is screaming at the changes they’ve made to the story, but I personally think they work well, and gave this adorable family a new fresh take (and god knows I was scared, cause this story is one of the dearest in my heart)! Also, can we talk about the actors?? Toooooo good! Anyways, loved it, so just wanted to bring this little trio back up on my feed! But I promise I’ll get through another Stitch doodle before the end of the summer!

I know, today’s #mermay2025, #wicked, was clearly about WICKED wicked, but I drew Elphie and Glinda earlier this year and I didn’t want to draw them again…. Plus, you guys know how much I love me them villlllllain girls, so I decided to go for a wicked sea witch! 😁

Wanted to do something different, and well since we rewatched the two Incredibles films last weekend I thought it was finally time I do some fanart! I LOVE Jack-Jack, and I SO hope we see him a bit more grown up on the third film! His powers are so unique and cool and too dang funny!! 🤣

Had the hardest time trying to do his monster version in 2D, made me soooo mad, so I ended up using a pin design as reference, (shoutout the the pin’s designer, thank you for the reference image!!) but other than that I had such fun with this doodle, and I hope you guys’ll like it! I just couldn’t leave my Elphie from the other day without her Glinda, of course!

I already knew when I drew Elphie with the #defyinggravity text that I would do the same for Glinda with #popular, I mean, totally owned this song and scene and I laughed so so much (also, can we talk about the little screams? I could listen to a full song of her little screams, 🤣🤣).

There was a lot of improvisation, background, outfit, I just couldn’t find good ref pics, and I mean this outfit wasn’t the easiest, so don’t look too closely, LOL. I keep on saying it, but I simply cannot get my head around the fact that the year is already over… howwwww??? Insane! Anyways, as always, saying goodbye to the year with my #summaryofart2024!

It’s been such a strange year. I started it off deciding to focus more on the quality of what I posted rather than the frequency at which I posted, and, though this time I can clearly say I’m seeing growth in my work, it’s ironically my worst year of general performance on Instagram. But heck, looking at my stuff, I see things have become more complexe, more researched, there’s more storytelling in my doodles and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t somewhat proud…. Sooooooo, even if IG has become a horrible place for growth in general (I mean, I know we all suffer from it) I’m still closing off the year feeling quite confident and happy about my drawings (for once, hahah).
