I started this personal painting many months ago to document some other unrelated difficult terrain in my neck of the woods. But it really hit me- while I was transferring the drawing onto the board- when we were having the palliative care group call for my momās final days. Throughout the years Iāve found that life imitates art more often than the other way around.
I know itās been awhile- Iām a private person. Iāll let the art speak for me and the last couple years. Itās a deeply personal piece but thereās a lot of people struggling, so itās duty to share it- youāre not alone. Things will get better. They always do, and youāre stronger for it all.
RIP Debra Ann Yeater-Slattum. Your fierce grace throughout it all will live with me forever. Wish I could tell you about the robin tapping at the window the other day, but I think you know šš

I know itās been quiet for a while. Weāve had our heads down fine-tuning and finessing the look of Soulstice, and itās taking time to get it right. In this update, we wanted to share some backgrounds and skies replacing the green screens in the finished scenes. We are still working hard to dial in the style, and we even have JR Slattum helping to paint the skies as youāll see in the last clip of the video, because who could better match the style than the painter of Soulstice himself! We also want to show off some visual effects that Jason Walker has created to bring a little more magic to the world of Soulstice. There is still a lot left to do, and these are actually mostly shots in progress, but we hope you feel as encouraged as we do by seeing this world a little more materialized and hope you enjoy this video!
