One of the most charming restaurant wedding venues. Osteria brings the vibes every time, and C+J’s summer ceremony in their greenhouse last year was so lovely. Photographing weddings at Osteria every chance I get.
One of the most fun Philly engagement sessions ever! Can’t wait to photograph these two again in a few months!
Reasons you should switch to more prompt based sessions

1. Every couple is different. Using prompts means they can make choices which ultimately opens them up for you to create magic. Whether it’s telling them to dance in the streets, or to simply lift and kiss, how they choose to do that is up to them which allows you to capture a more authentic and genuine version of them and their love.

2. Prompts add life to otherwise stale poses. Things get bland when you tell every couple to stand there chest to chest, with his hands in an exact spot and where specifically to look. Instead, giving them a prompt that allows them to connect creates emotion, laughter, and genuine connection that will add life to an otherwise boring image.

3. It makes the session far more fun for you and for them. Having fun is one of my biggest priorities. I believe that how the couple feels during their session fully determines how they feel about their photos. No fun = bad photos. So we want them to have fun, laugh a lot, smile real smiles, play with each other, get silly, and completely forget about the camera.

So there’s 3 reasons of many to why prompts create magic and why you should start using them. Do you prefer prompts or poses? Let me know in the comments!
Here is our approach to weddings after 10 years of shooting:

Our entire goal is to be Friends with Cameras. We recently realized that our superpower is creating a comfortable space where our couples feel they can be themselves in front of camera. Steph and I are people pleasers and want to make sure everyone is having a great time, has everything they need, is happy and having fun.

We want you to invite us in as friends rather than just photographers because that invitation in as friends means we can capture your day intimately as if we were part of your innermost circle.

Our hope is that when you look back on the wedding photographs in 10, 20, or 50 years from now, that you can feel the photos, that they are full of life, have remained timeless, genuine, and don’t feel staged or overly edited.

Our entire process is aimed at photographing you, your friends, and your family in a way that makes them feel comfortable, so they can let their guard down and just be themselves.

We’ve also learned that these photos are not for now. They’re for 20 years from now. These images only become more valuable with time. Because of that, we are photographing not just for you, but for your entire family. This day is incredibly important to you, of course, but it’s just as special to your closest friends, your brother and sister, your parents and grandparents, and even any kids that may not be in the picture quite yet.

We photograph for them, too. We place huge importance on candid moments because those are the photos that you’re going to feel the most in 20 years. The portraits are great and everyone should have beautiful portraits of themselves, but it’s those unexpected belly laughs, the quick wiping of a tear, or the sudden kiss on the cheek from your aunt that you completely forgot happened that will light up your heart when you look back on your photos.
