Good news

Realised I hadn't posted for a while and had some good news yesterday so thought why not share the news.

A fair few of you know I had a silent heart attack July 2024 and didn't realise till October 2024 when I collapsed and ended up serious in hospital.

So to start I will give you some numbers, loads of you like facts and figures so here you go: The average healthy person's ejection fraction is usually 50% to 70%, no one has 100%. When I was tested in October mine was 24% and I couldn't breath normally, walk a mile and honestly came to terms with being about to die. Spoiler alert I didn't die and over the next few months with some great treatment and (prescription) drugs by the NHS I got my numbers up to the high 30's%

I got told that was good and it wouldn't get much better an to forget running or bikes, my future was to be very boring but still alive.

I took that as a challenge and over the next few months started training to race mountain bikes again in the gym and on track, Did a 60 mile gravel race where I spent the entire 6 hours above what I told my maximum heart rate was and spent alot of time boxing training which is brutal.

It was all going well till April when I crashed at a national mountain bike race breaking six ribs, tearing my spleen, breaking my shoulder, chipping two vertebrae, tearing my pec and smashing my confidence but that's another story.

Fast forward to end of November and I just got my latest results back, I've got my ejection rate back up to 59%, he said I'm normal. I've never been called normal before 😆

Congratulations if you made it this far, I even started to bore myself. But yeah my heart isn't gonna be killing me anytime soon and you lot should be stuck with me for a while.

(Of course I celebrated this news with a burger made up of waffles, 2 Mars bars and fried chicken)

One year today (July 14th) since my silent heart attack ♥️

Didn't even realise till October that I had one and I now have to live with a heart condition for the rest of my life. I popped more pills each day now than a raver in the 90's

But the main thing is I have a life ahead of me

Yesterday ending up on the podium at what turned out to be my first mountain bike race of the year. Pretty emotional after being told my competition days were over

Night and day difference from ending up in hospital back in October with no clue of why I was so ill, genuinely at one point came to terms that I could be about to die then fast forward to yesterday and riding my bike and doing well I felt alive again

I'm not doing this post to be 'oh look at me I'm class' I'm doing it to say: If you think something is wrong with your health get it checked, I literally had a heart attack shrugged it off and felt like shit for months till it was almost too late

I was definitely in the mindset of being fit and healthy so it would never happen to me, but that's exactly why it happened to me

Anyone wants any more information and to know what to look out for inbox me or see me in person

So here's to the end of a very hard year, the worst is over

Went out with a new group of bike riders last night, my first organised gravel ride. Few people were asking me if I had been riding bikes long which made me realise I've been riding bikes nearly 40 years which is insane and makes me realise I'm old as fuck. Wish I had pictures of everything I've done over the years but at least I've got a few. An the memories will never fade. I've been lucky to meet so many cool people, go so many great places and do alot of it at a high level I would of only dreamt of as a kid

1) Enduro
2) Triathlon on the time trial bike
3) Indoor dirt jumping
4) Criteriun
5) Four cross
6) Gravel during lockdown!
7) Hill climb
8) Cross country
9) Downhill
10) Mtb skatepark
11) Time trial
12) King of dirt
13) Dirt jumping
14) Bmx racing
15) Triathlon, draft legal
16) Cyclo cross

I could post more but no one cares. But I will just say I'm not quiting yet!

I've just had this tattoo done by an if I ever get chance to meet him I would get it signed and that tattooed over, cos why not! Tattoos can be fun and tell a story

This is a great story, the story of

At 11, he was released from Newcastle’s academy for not being good enough.
At 13, he lost a finger while climbing a fence and gave up his dream of becoming a goalkeeper.
At 17, he was working in a supermarket: “I hated stacking shelves. And I think that’s what got me to where I am today. I felt disappointed, and clubs were picking my friends to play while I had to stay home. That’s why I always had a plan B.”

Because of his height, his movements as a left-back weren’t the most orthodox. He spent most of his career in second and third-tier teams until he joined Brighton in 2019—but without playing a single Premier League minute.

In 2022, just hours before the winter transfer window closed, Newcastle signed him as an emergency signing while battling relegation. He was a lifelong fan of the club, and his idol was Alan Shearer.
At 29, he returned to the team that had once let him go. Over time, he won the fans over with his personality and deep connection to the club.

Today, he is one of Newcastle’s captains and, at 32, has been called up to the England national team. He even scored in the final to end Newcastle’s 70-year trophy drought.

Fate and the god of opportunity smiled upon him in that winter transfer window. Everyone is happy for the towering Dan Burn.

Here's a fun tattoo in honour of the local legend and to celebrate an amazing season for him and hopefully one of many to come!

Big addition to the studio teamed up with my mate Harry Main founder of to be the first place to offer you the chance to come down and see the range, feel the quality and buy it here in

I've known of Harry a lot of years, Most people who's rode bmx will know him and more recently he's a big name on You Tube with some quality mountain bike and car content. But I've not got involved cos I'm a fan boy I've got involved because the quality is unreal and the prices are the best I've seen. The effort put into everything by Harry matches my own work ethic so I'm excited to get it started with this first drop.

Send me a message or of course come into the studio for any more information

Some may know some may not know since October I've been diagnosed as having some problems with my heart. This has led to some lifestyle changes including diet. The studio has moved away from the previous company that supported us to which is a much healthier alternative and ultra convenient for the fast paced days in the studio. Huel isn't a meal replacement it's a complete meal full of vitamins, minerals, proteins, essential fats and carbs. It's helped me improve my diet and avoid unhealthy alternatives that Newcastle is full of

Enough of the sales pitch, but if you do want to check it out use the code PINSNEWCASTLETATTOO or JONMOSSNEWCASTLE for money off your order

I'd love to be edgy and controversial and spill loads of stories about how and were wankers but I can't, you know why I can't? Cos they were absolutely top lads. We chatted about motorbikes and the SAS and everything in-between what more do you need in life? I've had people message me saying: There just people there not special, tho they are just people not many people can tell of riding pillion with Valentinos Rossi or finding out what is really like (Brutal) Also respect them for paying full price and choosing my studio. I know there's some women and men who would of paid them to have them with there trousers off 😆

If you can check out there
UK tour currently going on, It's sold out but if you get the chance take it

Despite what the reported incorrectly (they just went off what they saw on my story) it was actually not myself that tattooed them in not just Pins... the devil is in the details

After weeks of sorting it I got my new four cross bike yesterday at 1pm... quick car park test last night and a few tweaks it was dialled in. Took it to the private woods I ride at this morning all was good, spring has sprung the atmosphere was class. We were all digging down the bottom of the hill then heard one of the lads shouting we need to get back up the top. The firepit (Which was about 50 foot away from the bikes) we thought was out had re ignited in the wind and spread onto the dry leaves setting my brand new bike alight and a mates bike as well. Less than 24 hours later without even being rode my new bikes dead just two weeks before the start of the series

This is a very expensive accident (well over a thousand pounds): Cost of the bike, helmet, knee pads, goggles, multi tools, digital shock pump, tyre gauge and last but not least two pop tarts I had wanted for a snack later

You honestly have to laugh or you'd cry. Don't underestimate fire, always make sure the fire is out before it is left. Please make this post viral to raise awareness

*In response to some of the hate messages and comments: no this wasn't insurance fraud, the bikes weren't even insured. Two, no the bikes weren't set alight deliberately for social media stunt*

Completely forgot about this picture till someone earlier asked me what the was like, honestly cannot say enough good things about it

Not exactly life changing for me but definitely outlook changing. It reminded me how much fun doing anything on your bike is whether it be slalom, downhill, four cross, dirt jumping, enduro, ebiking or just jibbin about

2023 will be my 3rd year back on a mountain bike and really getting the feel of the bike back. It sounds mad to say but just that one weekend and drunken chats with, and the lads plus and pretty much everyone I spoke to made me realise it doesn't really matter how many seconds you are from the win or the podium what matter is having fun on your bike

Next year I won't be doing a full series in any one event but I will be trying to do as many types of event and having as many adventures as I can fit into the 12 months

Ride bikes have fun

Anyway for now he's a picture of some lads who ride bikes having a drink at the Malverns, if you know who they are then you know
