What does a softer means of opening your jaw do for your articulation? Tongue tension? Throat tension? Resonance?
Sometimes we release something, and something else goes with it - be mindful that your embouchure doesn’t lose its structure. Experiment with finding the right balance of embouchure structure and jaw/face softness without adding unnecessary overworking.
