From dropping out of college to chase tattooing… to falling in love and leaving my apprenticeship early to move in with Jen (my now-wife of 20 years)… to opening a studio in 2005 and selling it in 2023… it’s been a wild ride. Late nights, industry awards, mentoring younger artists, building something from scratch, and creating a safe and inspiring place to work. I’ve poured over two decades into tattooing, and I’ll always be grateful for where it’s taken me.
But I never planned to tattoo forever. This next chapter feels full-circle - I’m going back to college, back into the unknown, back into possibility.
In 2026, we’ll relocate to Vancouver Island, where I’ll study Business Administration at Camosun College and start building toward my next 20 years of work - maybe in tech/health, the outdoors, or something of my own again. While researching and visiting Vancouver Island we fell in love with the nature, the welcoming people, and a culture that feels more in alignment. It feels like the right place to put down new roots and call home.
What tattooing looks like for me there is unclear - hopefully part-time while I’m in school. But one thing is certain: this is it for me tattooing here.
If you’ve been thinking about starting or finishing a project with me, now’s the time. I’ll be considering projects of all sizes, so send your ideas my way. Books are open now. I’ve been quiet here for a while. Honestly, the past couple of years have been tough mentally, and social media hasn’t exactly helped(I know I'm not alone on this and I hope that you all have been good). But I’m still here, doing well, taking care of myself, and tattooing regularly again.
