A spontaneous winter weekend in the Baltics, just for the feeling of Christmas again.
The Christmas market was small, but absolutely magical. No rush, no crowds like I know them at home. Just warm lights, laughter, hot drinks and that quiet kind of happiness that slowly settles into your chest. Even without snow, the Christmas spirit was everywhere.
Up in a sky bar, looking over the glowing city at night. And later — sitting in a tavern, hidden below street level, surrounded by old walls, candlelight and warmth. It felt timeless. Safe. Perfectly still.
Somewhere between all of that, I found something even more beautiful: peace.
For a moment, everything felt right. No pressure. No chasing what’s next. Just the quiet realization that wherever my life stands right now — it’s okay.
Riga, you were gentle to my heart. 🤍✨

I spent a week in Saint Petersburg, not just discovering the city, but rediscovering something within myself.
I don’t want to talk about how the palaces impressed me or how much I enjoyed the food.
This trip was something different. I somehow knew before I even left that it would change me — and it did.
Sometimes you feel that a place is waiting for you.
Not with people or plans, but with experiences — with something your heart needs to learn.
Sometimes you just have to take that small leap of courage —
because on the other side, something truly beautiful might be waiting for you.
I felt gratitude. Awe.
For life itself. For being able to see, to feel, to truly experience.
Even without sharing a language, I met kindness, honesty, openness.
You don’t need words to understand a good heart — they exist everywhere.
Go through the world with an open heart, a curious mind, and a bit of courage —
and the world will mirror it back to you.

After an intensive first half of the year full of learning, this break was just what I needed. From the breathtaking Avakas Canyon and National Park to exciting jeep rides (off-road, of course 😎) to turtle nests at Turtle Beach – every moment was an adventure. 🐢
I discovered avocado, papaya, banana and dragon fruit farms, visited a donkey farm, and let the sun kissing me by the pool. 🌴☀️ The Baths of Aphrodite were a dream, as were the Edro shipwreck and the sea caves. And every evening I was enchanted by the beautiful sunsets. 🌅
Oh yes – and the food! 😍 Every meal was a delight.
Cyprus, you were pure relaxation for body, mind, and soul! 💛

Not only did I travel to breathtaking places, but I also grew in ways I never thought possible. People came into my life, others left, and I learned to embrace change with open arms. 2024 showed me that I can achieve more, dream bigger, and take what I want instead of waiting for life to hand it to me.
I started the year slow, with an Easter trip to Budapest, Hungary. From there, the adventure picked up pace—a month-long road trip through Europe. I discovered the stunning Alps in southern Germany, wandered through Vienna and Bratislava, soaked in the misty beauty of Croatia’s national parks, and found hidden gems in Slovenia. Italy welcomed me with rain and sunshine in Venice, while Monaco dazzled me with its luxury. The natural wonders of Switzerland and the quaint charm of Liechtenstein were the perfect finale to my spring road trip.
Summer brought even more adventures. I explored the raw, untamed landscapes of Iceland, which challenged me both physically and mentally. To recover from the cold, I spent a short trip in to france, andorra and a sunny week in Sicily, where I practiced my growing Italian skills and enjoyed the warmth and culture.
Albania surprised me with its safety and beauty, Kosovo amazed me with its delicious food, and North Macedonia left me in awe of its landscapes.
I returned to Croatia, visiting the historic city of Dubrovnik. Walking through its ancient streets felt like stepping into a medieval story. As a House of the Dragon fan, seeing the filming locations added an extra layer of magic. Montenegro, with its stunning coastline and serene mountains, was a true highlight. Finally, Bosnia touched my heart with its resilience—a poignant connection to my father’s time there in the 1990s.
December wrapped up the year perfectly, with a snowy visit to Tallinn. The Christmas market were magical, and the city covered in snow looked like something out of a fairytale.
This year has been a wild ride, filled with challenges and rewards. It’s taught me to embrace the unexpected and to keep pushing forward. 2025, I’m ready to give it my all—full speed ahead!

My year ends in the magical snow of Estonia and with it my personal challenge: to travel to 23 countries in 2024! 🌍✨ It was an intense, exciting and sometimes exhausting adventure to plan and implement everything - but this record was definitely worth it! Next year will be quieter, because with the start of my time at university, traveling will be on the back burner for the time being.
Tallinn was a wonderful end. A perfect destination for a weekend - especially in winter, when the old town seems to be wrapped up in a fairy tale. The snow-covered streets, the medieval architecture and the Christmas market completely enchanted me. Did you know that Europe’s first Christmas market supposedly took place here?
Estonians are incredibly friendly and I enjoyed trying Estonian cuisine. There are many cozy restaurants, especially in the old town. The Kadriorg Palace is also a real highlight that I can recommend to you.
Despite the icy wind – the -1°C felt almost like -20°C because of the wind! – I kept myself warm with Glögg (or Mulled Wine) and enjoyed every second. Tallinn in the snow was simply magical.
Who of you has ever been to Estonia? And have you also experienced Tallinn in winter? ✨

One of the highlights was visiting the Kravica waterfalls, which means ‘baby cow’. The legend of these waterfalls particularly fascinated me: It is said that a man discovered his wet cow after it unexpectedly returned from the forest. While searching for the cause, he came across the waterfalls. This story gives the place a special magic, and the roaring water in the middle of the green landscape is simply impressive.
Mostar was also a very special place for me, but the large number of tourists in the old town surprised me a little. It was very crowded and sometimes narrow, which somewhat affected the charm of the place. Nevertheless, the city remains unforgettable with its rich history.

I’m still excited about Montenegro! The combination of high mountains and picturesque coastal towns just blew me away. No matter where you are - you have the feeling that nature is embracing you from all sides. The old towns, which are located right by the sea, have a very special charm.
An highlight of my trip was the boat trip. From the water you can see completely different, breathtaking perspectives - simply indescribably beautiful. 🛥️💙
But Montenegro is not just a dream in summer! Did you know that you can also ski really well here in winter? 🏔️🎿 So, whether summer or winter - Montenegro is always worth a trip!

What particularly fascinated me was the exciting mix of old and new: old buildings meet modern architecture here, especially in Tirana, which is young, hip and full of life.
A highlight was definitely the cooking class, where I was able to experience the delicious traditional cuisine up close - I haven’t had this much fun in a long time!
This country has shown me once again why I love traveling so much: it is full of unexpected discoveries and unforgettable experiences. 🌍✨”

Of course a visit to the Bay of Bones and the impressive Sveti Naum Monastery Church was a must - both places exude a fascinating mix of history and natural beauty. And as a highlight I even treated myself to my first pearl necklace here! 💎
All in all: the day was perfect and I am sure: This was not my last visit to Ohrid. I will definitely be back! 🌊 #Ohrid #NorthMacedonia #TravelGoals #Wanderlust #PearlNecklace
