Thank you,, for this beautiful hand-hammered titanium pan. It means so much to me that it’s rooted in Japanese craftsmanship. It feels like such a perfect fit for a page inspired by Japanese food, culture, and the stories behind every meal.

Thank you again for all the love on my anniversary post. I’m still shocked that so many of you continue to watch after a year.
And to the new faces who joined this week — welcome!! 😊
Here’s to Year 2. 🍱✨
For a long time, my cooking lived on my personal account—photos of meals, recipes I was experimenting with, and foods I was craving. Creating wasn’t new. Giving it its own space was.
I had no idea what would happen when I started.
Over the last year, this page has become so much more than a collection of recipes. It’s been a creative outlet, a place to share pieces of my Japanese heritage, local Hawaiʻi favorites, family traditions, comfort foods, and all the little things that inspire me.
There were reels that surprised me, reels that flopped, and plenty of moments where I questioned whether I should keep going. But I kept posting anyway.
What surprised me most was realizing how many people were quietly rooting for me. Friends, family, former coworkers, strangers, and people from different chapters of my life showed up, encouraged me, shared my content, and celebrated milestones right alongside me. I never expected so many people to be interested in what I was creating, and I’ll never stop being grateful for that support.
Along the way, I’ve connected with incredible people, worked with brands I never expected to hear from, learned new skills, and gained a deeper appreciation for the stories food can tell.
To everyone who has watched, liked, commented, shared, saved a recipe, or simply followed along…thank you.
One year down. ❤️
Here’s to creating, learning, and seeing where Year 2 takes us.
Taking a poke-making class taught me a lot about fish selection, preparation, and how something as simple as the way it’s cut can completely change the experience.
It also gave me a deeper appreciation for the local ingredients, food traditions, and people that make poke such an important part of Hawaiʻi’s culture.
For more poke-making and similar workshops happening this summer, will be sharing upcoming class information. Mahalo Chef Kale and staff for this experience! And of course, special thank you to for always letting me tag along to some fun events!

Had leftover logs of kamaboko and turned it into the easiest dip ever.
Recipe:
• 1 log kamaboko, chopped
• 4 oz cream cheese, softened (sorry I misspoke on my VO - it’s NOT sour cream lol 🤦🏻♀️)
• 2–3 tbsp Kewpie mayo
• 2 green onions, chopped
• 1–2 tsp furikake
• squeeze of lemon juice
Note: this version is on the chunkier side. But some people grate the kamaboko too. I think a lot of recipes use a lot more mayo. Mix everything together and chill before serving ✨
Perfect with crackers, chips, cucumbers, or just eaten straight from the bowl while deciding what to make for dinner.

Sōmen Salad — Hawai‘i potluck essential! 🍜🌈
Light, refreshing, and the perfect balance to all the heavy holiday dishes.
Today I used ume sōmen for a subtle tang and cute pink vibes 💕
Topped with kamaboko, cucumbers, watercress, shredded egg, and fried tofu — but honestly, use whatever you love!
Who else grew up eating this at every family party? 🙋🏻♀️

Reminiscing about my Zippys days 🤣 I really hated it back then but it taught me hustle 😈Drop your Zippy’s order ⬇️ (no promises I won’t judge 🤣)🤣… Entertain me LOL
Thank you for my cute saimin/ramen bowl! 💕
Quick dashi for 1 serving:
• 1 ¾ cups water
• 1 Tbsp packet dashi
• 1 Tbsp katsuobushi dashi
• 1–1 ½ tsp shoyu (start with 1 tsp, add more if needed…less if you don’t want it so dark or as strong)
• ¼–½ tsp Hawaiian salt (taste and adjust)
• Tiny pinch sugar
