We spend so much energy trying to stop aging, when maybe the real work is figuring out how to keep playing. Because in so many ways, youth isn’t about how many birthdays you’ve had. It’s a state of mind. It’s about staying open, light, and willing to experience joy without needing a reason for it.
This day in Yosemite with & was just that. Fun for funs sake! Shenanigans, mishaps, and lots of laughs. Play belongs in all our lives, and we should hold on to it a lot tighter than our age might suggest. Have fun out there!
It’s easy to remember the highlights. The places that look good in photos or in a recap. But the truth is, the moments I hold onto most are the in-between ones. The ordinary magic. The stuff that doesn’t show up on here because no one thought to record it.
And none of it exists in a vacuum. This year only happened the way it did because you were here supporting, sharing, encouraging, and dreaming alongside me. I don’t take that lightly. Not for a second.
Thank you for being part of my moments. For caring about the small stuff. For making this life possible. Here’s to living big in all of life’s little moments in 2026. 🤍
Cannon Beach is always worth the stop. Pacific City is a personal favorite, especially if I’m splurging on a stay at Headlands Coastal Lodge. Bandon is the perfect spot to stop and enjoy a west coast sunset. From there it just gets better the farther south you drive.
Even when you think you know this drive, the coastline still finds ways to surprise you in the best way.
Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor is always a reminder of how wild this stretch really is. And ending the drive among the towering trees in Jedediah Smith Redwoods is the enchanted forest we all read about as kids. And yeah I know... it’s technically California.
If you’re planning this road trip, my best advice is still the same. Build in extra time, pull over often, and don’t try to optimize it too much. Highway 101 rewards patience.

While on the North Island, we based ourselves in at the and road-tripped around the region to uncover some truly unique experiences. What surprised me most was how effortless everything felt. In New Zealand it literally feels like there’s something to see and do around every bend in the road! Here were some of the standout experiences for me from this trip:
• Cycling through the Taranaki Coastal Walkway — easy terraine + wild views.
• Recovery + wellness time at & after long days on the trail.
• Local food stops like and that made me want to stay forever.
• Blue-on-blue lakes road tripping around Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo.
• Trekking to Mueller Hut (overnight stays require a permit from NZ DOC)

And I get it. I really do. There’s a strong argument to be made that all this running around to the same locations, jumping on trends, and recreating images stifles creativity. But here’s the thing, so does putting pressure on yourself to always be radically different and unique. Creativity doesn’t thrive under judgement. It grows out of inspiration.
I guess what I’m trying to say is… some places are famous for a reason. It’s okay to want to see those destinations. To experience them for yourself. And maybe even take a few pictures while you’re at it. Who knows, the simple act of being in a beautiful place, may be the seed of inspiration you’re looking for. Balance in everything. Have fun out there!
