Jesper Munk ist zurück! Der in Berlin lebende Deutsch-Däne mit dieser facettenreiche begnadeten Stimme startet erneut durch.
Es gibt fast niemand in der deutschen Indieszene, die/der noch nie etwas von ihm gehört hat. Aber: Wo soll man anfangen, wie einordnen und wo aufhören? Aufgehört wird meist zum Schluss, doch Jesper Munk ist noch lange nicht fertig, ganz im Gegenteil. Mit seinen 31 Jahren hat sich für ihn die Suche nach der eigenen Klangwelt als erfolgreich erwiesen, was bei Konzerten wie auf Platte deutlich zu hören ist. In den letzten 12 Jahren ist viel passiert und Jesper Munks Geschichte ist eine von vielen Auf und Abs, von der bluesy Supernova zum zwar hippen aber unterschätzten Crooner, vom Teenage-Posterboy zum etablierten und gestandenen Singer/Songwriter. Mit einem Full-Band-Konzert von Jesper Munk wird in diesem Frühsommer das erste Konzert der neuen Konzertreihe, Pop Seasons‘ In Bloom, stattfinden. In Bloom ist die sommerliche Open-Air-Ausgabe der POP SEASONS auf der kleinen Theaterbühne in Planten un Blomen.
2024 feierte Jesper Munk sein „Return“ zu sich selbst. Nach einer längeren Kreativpause, veröffentlichte er letztes Jahr nach dem 2022er Coveralbum Taped Heart Sounds mit "Yesterdaze" den lange erwarteten, selbstkomponierten und schließlich auch hoch gelobten Nachfolger von Favourite Stranger (2018).
Anläßlich des zehnjährigen Jubiläums seines bislang erfolgreichsten Albums Claim widmet sich Jesper Munk nun wieder mehr seinem Frühwerk. Auf dem im September 2025 erscheinenden Album best of … live – ein zweigeteiltes Doppelalbum mit jeweils eigenständigen Livemitschnitten zusammen mit dem Deutschen Filmorchester Babelsberg und seiner Begleitband The Cassette Heads – sind nun alle seine Evergreens vertreten.
