Sending so much love to all of the mamas (both human + furry/feathered/scaled/hooved), the soon-to-be mamas, the new mamas in the trenches, the step mamas, the single mamas, the working mamas, the sahms, the adoptive + foster mamas, the maternal figures, the mamas with babies in heaven, those with mamas in heaven, those with strained relationships and especially those still praying and longing to become mamas. This day is for all of us. 🤍
Just plain wow feels like an understatement. Still soaking in all the love from yesterday’s shower for our baby boy, and these v few iPhone snaps do not even begin to capture all of the incredible humans who showed up for us. Professional photos to follow, but our hearts are already so, so full. 🥹
Each and every single included guest was so intentional, serving such a special role in our fertility journey to our cowboy. The support, the patience, the compassion — we surely have felt it in every hug, every prayer and the endless words of encouragement.
And to our hostess w the absolute mostest, — you outdid yourself once again in only your fashion. God clearly chose you to be my soul sister. After all, He obv needed someone to match my freak. You are my person in every season, and no one could have handcrafted a day so perfectly for us. I still have absolutely no words for how much this day means to me. The time, the thought, the curated details — I’ve truly never felt more celebrated or loved.

Thirteen years together. These years shaped us, challenged us infinitely, grew us the heck up and have now prepared us for our newest and best chapter yet — becoming mom + dad.
Naviva felt almost otherworldly. It’s an incredibly special place where time slowed and the noise of the world just disappeared. Through sound healing, breath work and the ancient gratitude Temazcal ritual, we reconnected with one another, with mother nature and with the quiet that often gets lost in everyday life. 🌿
We watched humpback whales from our bungalow terrace, indulged in the freshest of the fresh, chef curated organic eats (+ homemade donuts upon request — thanks, Kevin!), had late night fireside convos in the middle of the jungle serenaded by the rhythmic beats of Bad Bunny, enjoyed a prenatal massage (for me) and a facial (for Bert), formed meaningful connections w the incredible family, tasted agave straight from the motherland (NA spirits for me 😏), hung w all of the coati cuties and just soaked in the carefree poolside and beachside days at our own pace.
This personalized, wellness focused escape is exactly what the OB ordered. 10/10 recommend a visit. Naviva will remain with us long after our journey home. We never repeat travel destinations since there is so much of this world to explore, but we will most certainly be back to visit our new fam.

Three years of infertility.
Three years of silent struggle, fear, disappointment, uncertainty and unanswered prayers.
Three years of feeling left behind and questioning if parenthood was meant for us.
We cried out so many times, “Lord, why are you keeping us here?”
The truth is He was planting seeds all along.
From the v beginning, we rejected the phrase: unexplained infertility. It felt like a lazy diagnosis for us, one that ignored fundamental root cause medicine. We made it our mission to dive deeper. You are your own greatest advocate.
We are not meant to be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. Infertility is an epidemic. We urge every woman—every couple—to go to war for your health. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Seek answers. When it comes to your health and future, do not settle for the path of least resistance.
This chapter has been the most unrelenting season of our lives. It truly took a village—Mercier Therapy, fertility acupuncture, Chinese and herbal medicine, gynecologic surgery, restorative reproductive medicine (RRM), and finally, assisted reproductive technology at AFCC.
To each provider—thank you for guiding us with expertise, compassion + hope.
To our family and friends who prayed with us and carried us through our heaviest season—we love you. Your faith strengthened ours infinitely.
Infertility reshapes everything—your plans, faith, confidence, sense of self. We had to surrender the timeline we imagined, let go and wholeheartedly trust God’s plan for us.
To our darling cowboy—we would walk this road a hundred times over if it led us to you. The waiting, the setbacks, the losses, the starting over—each season demanded more trust than the last. And even when we could not see it, God was working quietly, behind closed doors and within detours that made absolutely no sense at the time. We now understand this entire process was leading us to you.
To those still in the waiting—we know the pain of these announcements. We pray our story offers even the tiniest glimmer of hope. God is not finished with your story. He is working in the unseen, making a way for your miracle too.
