Languid spring days at, bookended by soft, potent practices that help you loosen your frame.

It’s hard to grow a seed in rock, and most of us are stressed beyond our knowledge. Qi Gong is a key component of How to Remember the Future, speaking to the need to create safety in the body before planting seeds for boldly tender futures.

This particular technique, kept within the one family for 400 years before being passed to my teacher, works like a form of self-acupuncture:
creating balance in the body, cultivating vitality, and offering immediate relaxation while supporting ongoing health and longevity.

We do it like the tree: legs firmly grounded, extending downwards like roots desiring deeper earth; arms softly following the breath, torso gently seeking the sky.
Jenni is an Australian joining us from Paris with an invitation to embody our ideal futures. Her technique weaves creative flow, cognitive science, meditation, somatic resets, futures thinking and philosophy into a modular, multi-faceted practice.
How to Remember the Future explores imagination as a muscle, and the way inner narrative unconsciously shapes our existences. Her method equips us to reset our nervous systems, navigate uncertainty, envision braver futures and rewire our blueprints.
Join her for morning sessions at 10am on Weds 15/04, Thurs 16/05 and Friday 17/04 and evening sessions on Tues 14/04 and Friday 17/04 at 5pm.
On Wednesday there will be a special creative session for guests and visitors alike at 6pm followed by our Communal Dinner at 8pm
in which Jenni Dawes will be our special guest.

How to remember the future sessions are free for guests and 25euros for visitors.

Imagination is a muscle; understanding how to wield it to envision brighter, bolder futures and better adapt to change is fast becoming the superpower of our times.

I’ll be in residence at 14-18 April, opening their program for the year with How to Remember the Future in its most immersive form yet.

The technique combines many favourite things - mindfulness, cognitive science, creative flow, futures thinking, philosophy, deep connection - into a modular, multi-faceted practice.

We live into the stories we tell ourselves, unconsciously crafting our realities to confirm existing beliefs. Cross-training the imagination allows us to rewire those blueprints, with the technique enhancing creativity, resilience and nervous system regulation in the process.

Adventures to date have spanned off-sites for giants such as and to programming for and private sessions for founders across Europe, popping up at art galleries, conferences and festivals inbetween, with the masterful producer behind the scenes.

Son Blanc’s restorative design and their nurturing, regenerative principles provide the ideal cocoon for crafting formative new chapters. Guests will receive morning and evening sessions tailored to the season and the surrounds.

Much gratitude to the divine for planting the seed đŸŒ±
Happy to share the beginning of a creative collaboration with -- bringing the 'How to Remember the Future' visualisation workshop to wider audiences.

At a time of turbulence, brain fog, and rather concerning trends at the top, we're guiding people back to their innate power through a mix of cognitive neuroscience, visualisation techniques, and practical ways to reconnect with intention, imagination and direction.

The time for disassociation is over.

This is a pragmatic workshop that is the type of wellbeing that the world truly needs. A moment to re-ground in our actual reality; to define what we actually want instead of just rallying against what we don't.

This visualisation technique is embraced by elite athletes, entertainers, and forward-thinking leaders, but together with, we're leveling the playing field, bringing it directly to you.

Our next session is February the 13th,
but expect more in the near future.

One of the most intense, incredible, liberating weeks of my life: taking part in Boris Charmatz’s CERCLES, which gathered 200 amateur dancers for six evenings at Grand Palais. Three nights of rehearsal, three nights of performing to hundreds of spectators.

Warm-up exercises that had us leaping along the balconies, crawling alongside the art installation, running amok through Paris’s most celebrated exhibition space. Choreography that seemed unreachable & then slowly, piece by piece, wasn’t.

A diverse line-up of dancers (aged 16 - 75), barely knowing each other throughout the process, but united in a sense of belonging: to a common goal, to a shared effort, to an idea. Cocooned in the encouragement to strive, not for a singular standard of perfection, but simply for our personal best.

After the first night I didn’t know how I could possibly finish the streak, after the final night I don’t know how to stop.

An immense thank you to for the opportunity.

Starting the new year with an old favourite: questions that cut to the heart of the matter, via a guest post I wrote for ‘Why Is This Interesting?’ (link in bio).

I have a business of asking deep questions (truly), and a ritual of deploying them presently, bridging the psychological abyss that we insert between one year and the next.

There’s a certain levity that comes with carving out a sacred pause, of turning our errant curiosity inward to bestow the precious gift of attention - “the rarest and purest form of generosity”, according to Simone Weil - upon ourselves.

It’s a process of marking what matters; forging meaning in actions past, taking stock of the current situation, closing chapters, stretching a beckoning hand to the future self

- What have you done/become in the last year that makes you proud?
- What are your most important rituals?
- How would you describe your relationship with yourself?
- If you were braver, what would you do differently?

🚀 Follow the link for the full list (too long to post here). May your 2025 be bursting with boldness, big dreams, wild adventures, witty banter, soulful creativity, expansive connection and a hearty dose of tenderness đŸ’«
So, here it finally is: the weekly curation of ‘what to do, when’ in Paris. Intimate events, art salves, nature escapes and neighbourhood guides, along with tips and resources for mastering French.

The Paris Chapter is designed for those wanting a deeper, richer experience of the city, as an expat, Frenchie or traveller. Find community, discover your happy place(s), and make the most of the city’s creative and culinary pleasures.

It came alive from several factors colliding: a desire to write for myself again; born-and-bred Parisian friends asking me for recommendations; and the realisation that not everyone spends hours researching, just for fun.

lake garda // play outside, play within
⠀
When I say I want to play outside, I’m really saying that I want to play with the deepest levels of my being: with the profound duality found in nature - yin/yang, creation/destruction, masculine/feminine - & equally within myself.
⠀
To be reminded that straight lines tend not to exist in nature; that the weather will change, sometimes rapidly, sometimes many times in a day, & tends to fall in patterns or be born of preceding events (& that how I appear in the world tends, also, to have these proclivities).
⠀
I typically find myself craving the wildest landscapes possible: sharply painted mountains, jagged rocks, monstrous waterfalls; a language of sheer ferocity, a craving to recognise in them the wildest parts of myself, to remember that I have as much capacity to be the savage waves as the still lake.
⠀
We do ourselves a great injustice when we only acknowledge one side of ourselves; there is a duality to all things. Creation/destruction: we are always both.
⠀
As put so beautifully:
“Yesterday, I was the moon,
today, just an eclipse
Something in me travels
some days it’s to the dark,
others to the light.”
⠀
Here at Lake Garda, my new love, there are all things - vast mountain ranges, still lakes, rivers that flow gently but are bitingly cold - & I feel utterly at home.
rome // art bath
⠀
This trip to Rome, I found myself wandering the streets the way I often do galleries - my phone on silent, in somewhat of a daze, rarely reaching for my camera - despite the beauty - & instead just letting it all wash over me, a salve for any ill.
⠀
I clocked 64km over 5 days, walking almost every part of the city centre, along with some further gems. I both got lost & lost myself (something that Rebecca Solnit writes on so eloquently in one of my favourite books, A Field Guide to Getting Lost), & returned home each night sweaty - it topped 34C most days - & aching & spent, satiated in discovery & gleeful as a child about it.
⠀
I fell in love with the seam of Trastevere, the back back streets butting up against Gianicolo, cobbled lanes & trattorias stealing the evening in the best possible way. I will remember the dinner there more than any view of the Colosseum, the meal itself as much as who I felt myself to be in that moment.
⠀
“How will you go about finding that thing the nature of which is totally unknown to you?" asks Solnit, by way of Plato. For me, it’s to step back from certainty & lean into intuition; to choose a street to wander based on a ray of light, a place to stay based on “because”. It doesn’t need to make sense intellectually, just as - for me - most art doesn’t. Beauty, wonder, delight: the best of anything is instinctive. We know what we need before our minds do; wandering is my way to listen.
