Jongens sinds ik klein was at ik al congee en geloof me als ik zeg dat dit echt een van de makkelijkste en goedkoopste dingen is om te maken!
Ik doe er vaak nog wat dingen door denk aan groenten of soms zelfs wat bonen of gehakt voor smaak! En je eet het met heeel veeeel verschillende side dishes dus het wordt nooooit saai! Het beste is even rijstkoker aanzetten en wachten 🤝
Ingrediënten
* 200 gram witte rijst
* 1L water
* Optioneel:
* Zeewier
* 15 gram gember (stukje van 2,5 cm), geschild en in dunne plakjes
* 3 teentjes knoflook, in dunne plakjes (optioneel)
* 2 bosuien, schuin gesneden (wit en groen gescheiden)
* 1 elsojasaus of tamari
* 9 gram kosjer zout (of grof zeezout), plus extra naar smaak
* 1 el geroosterde sesamolie, plus extra voor de afwerking
* gemalen witte peper
Bereidingswijze
Spoel de rijst in een zeef onder koud water tot het water helder is.
✨Optie 1: In de pan (35 minuten)
1. Breng de rijst en het water in een grote pan op hoog vuur aan de kook.
2. Zet het vuur laag zodat het zachtjes blijft koken.
3. Voeg de zeewier, gember, knoflook en het witte deel van de bosui toe.
4. Laat 30 tot 35 minuten zonder deksel koken tot een dikke, romige pap. Roer regelmatig en schraap over de bodem.
✨Optie 2: In de rijstkoker (90 minuten)
1. Doe de rijst, het water, de gember, de knoflook en het witte deel van de bosui in de rijstkoker.
2. Gebruik de ‘Porridge’ (pap) stand. Heeft jouw rijstkoker dit niet? Gebruik dan de gewone kookstand, maar houd de deksel een klein beetje open tegen het overkoken. En doe er optioneel nog zeewier door;)
3. Laat de rijstkoker het programma afmaken tot de congee de gewenste dikte heeft.
🤤Afwerking:
Roer de sojasaus, het zout, de sesamolie en de witte peper door de congee. Proef en voeg eventueel extra zout toe. Serveer met het groene deel van de bosui en een paar druppels sesamolie.
