I brought some of my Bangkok friends for dinner and we were not disappointed… so much so that one of my friends brought his friend back with the next 36 hours.
I would describe the food as delicious, fun and accessible … bringing high quality dining food at prices that welcomes travelers, local Thai foodies and expats alike.
My personal favourites are the razor clams, smoked salmon trout and spicy crab paccheri, pigeon spaghetti and flat iron steak!
Great vibes the entire night and there is parking literally 20m away from the restaurant.
For my friends who are traveling to Bangkok… do not miss this!

1) A Holiday away
2) The exact same country
3) The exact same island
4) The exact same hotel
We always exchange a series of gifts as a family and keep our main presents to the last.
When it came to Andrew and my turn,
I told Andrew, “ your gift is in your email this year”
Andrew told me, “ awwww … and yours is in your WhatsApp this year.”
We both opened our gifts and gasped!
We decided to surprise each other with a holiday back at the very first overseas date Andrew took me on 24 years ago in Nov 2001 at Banyan Tree in Bintan.
He only confessed years later that he waaay overspent his budget for that month… 😂 we were then in the days of emails and international calling cards and had a 2 years of long distance relationship.
We had a good laugh about it …over how crazy that we picked that exact same present for each other.
Well, we are here now… 24 years later ❤️
Older, not sure any wiser but still very much in love.

I have always believed in hospitality and as such, would love to share with you some of our Singaporean culture that would make your stay easier with us. I don’t normally speak Singlish but your “pattern” in “arrowing” your own party preparations to us really makes me and many Singaporeans “sibei pek chek”. I will try to put my points across without “may chor way”.
Singapore may be small but we are like chili padi 🌶️, we are taught since young not to be easily influenced or intimidated by anyone… bigger or not.
First of all, you are a guest in our country… Don’t think this is “your grandmother’s” house and write your own rules with us. You cannot be “pai kia” with us because we invented “ah beng” culture.
Wah lau eh… being “damn one kind” with us will not fly.
We don’t appreciate “buay hiao bai” ways when you “suka suka” ask for larger gifts.
TSK… “kay seow”ah? Your mother never teach you, is it?
It is YOUR Independence Day, not ours. You have the money to want to BUY over Iceland… I mean Greenland…
Why are you asking us to help you pay for your birthday party,ah? Really “ buay pai-seh” and so cheapo.
If you stop being “guai lan” and “hao lian” to the rest of the world, maybe you will start making more friends and less enemies. We don’t like “yaya papayas” or people that “tekan” other people.
And please don’t be so “bo liao” and keep meddling in other countries’ affairs. Being a “kaypoh” will “confirm chop” make everyone “buay song” with you.
So stop being a CB.

in Chiang Mai left a deep impression on me for more reasons than mum and dad enjoying their dinner … actually that says a lot too because mum is even harsher a critic than me.
Park Daang was built on the premise that they can offer second chances, of empowerment and showing that hospitality can impact social changes. Brother and sister duo give jobs to at risk youths and have been from when they started years ago. I have been following their story for years and was heartbroken when I heard that they did not survive Covid.
Guess what? They reopened bigger, better, bolder hiring more youths than ever… each youth proud of where they have come knowing that they are safe in Paak Dang whilst holding down a respectable job. Owner K-Lin teaches them English, accounting and hospitality skills (Singaporean, and an ex Economics lecturer turned business owner) in the mornings and opens only for dinner at nights. This restaurant runs well and you would never have guessed that not one staff had hospitality background… this, to me is success.
Location 🙌🏻 because you are sitting by a river and just the perfect place to catch the sunset.
Food 👏🏻 as they serve you local seafood, no fancy plating but deliciously prepared.
Staff 🫶🏻 … well trained, hospitality, professional, confident and well spoken.
They have giant turtles gifted to them by a local temple as a show of friendship… and these turtles eat all their vegetable scraps from the kitchen 😭🫶🏻
I am so happy that have reopened… their story of impact and giving back to the community continues. Please head there if you are ever in #chiangmai! Their place on was well deserved… hope that Michelin realizes they have reopened 🙌🏻❤️

Almost everywhere I looked, it was our young volunteers, school kids, college kids…
“Choosing to show up 🥹”
They gave their time, their energy, their patience, to a community that asks for presence, gentleness, and real care.
No obligation. No reward. Just choice.
Watching them move with so much quiet intention reminded me that love doesn’t always come loud. Sometimes it looks like consistency.
Like staying.
Like showing up when you could be somewhere else.
These kids truly showed me that there’s always hope
This is why we screen our volunteers, because this community is family and in this family, we show up ❤️
Yours Truly,
Touch Volunteer

We took Mum and Dad away for their 50th anniversary and I cried so much making this reel because this trip taught me so much.
Our sound conversations with him are getting lesser … the moments of lucidity between one another are getting more spaced out. We don’t know how much of it Dad remembers with his #dementia but Mum does. We do.
Mum is and always has been Dad’s world.
Dad was her champion, her biggest cheerleader, her fierce protector, her best friend and her confidant… ever since dementia took over… the role has been reversed and it has been very hard on mum because she has to be the stronger one and the one looking after Dad now.
However, Dad still thinks he is the one protecting her, leading her, wanting to carry things for her even when he is unsteady on his feet, asking us to look after her first, wanting to feed her first even though he drops half the food on the table … he is still the first one to reach out for her hand. He still wants to be paying for our meals even though he has no idea what card he is pulling out of his wallet.
My baby brother, Daniel has stepped up years ago to be the head of our family whether he realizes it or not. I love and am grateful to him for bearing the weight on his shoulders… and even my sister in law Cheryl has done so much for my parents when we were away all these years.
This trip has shown us that as a family, if we come together, nothing is too hard to handle.
I tried to capture as many moments this trip because I don’t know how many more trips we will have with Dad… and I am glad I did because I realized when I put the reels together… I captured candid moments of love and support over all else.
I captured my Dad’s undying love for mum.
I captured the love that mum has for Dad.
I captured the love that my sister in law Cheryl and Andrew has for the family.
I captured the love we have for each other.
I captured the love that holds this family together.

Our skies are not meant for war planes, seas not meant for naval ships, land not meant for tanks or troops.
We are meant to be the guardians of this earth … not destroyers for the sake of greed and senseless ambitions.
We are meant to unite against hate, against violence, against injustice … not stand by in silence
We are meant to protect the children, the elderly, the minorities, the voiceless… not watch them used an pawns in the game politicians play
The world is taking a scary turn where money dictates power which should never be the case… UNCHECKED power
We, as the people of the world, have to come together in unity… not divide
We have to stand for peace and humanity when the real Hunger Games has started
If love does not win over hate soon… we will take another eternity to heal.
That’s not the world we want our children to grow up in.

I had second thoughts whether to attend because my travel schedule has been crazy but my amazing husband encouraged me to.
Thank you Hun, for being my rock. This would not have been possible without your belief, love and support all these years… standing by me through my crazy ideas.
I decided to brave the travel from Singapore to Saudi and back within 56 hours… why?
Because this a learning journey not just for myself but for my 2 daughters to know that it is possible to reach for the stars.
This post is for my daughters Keira and Teggy, all teens, youths, struggling entrepreneurs, mums restarting their careers out there… anyone with the dream
1) A dream remains a dream unless you act on it
2) Nothing is impossible… nothing
3) ACT on your beliefs
4) Never be afraid to fail… failure is the stepping stone to success
5) Stay humble through it all. Pride is the downfall of many things
6) True influence is gentle and used for empowering others who are voiceless
7) Kindness goes a long way.
Thank you for the invite and for being such a gracious host at.
This event has shown what western media does not show enough of… the voices of female leaders in the Middle East are LOUD, PROUD, POWERFUL, INDEPENDENT and EMPOWERING.
Thank you ( a real force of power) for joining me at the event and looking after me in your new country of residence.
