Here are the steps I used to unlock the full potential of the iPhone’s cinematic settings:
Step 1: Get an SSD (required to shoot in Log mode)
Step 2: Download Blackmagic Cam App (free)
Step 3. Choose 24fps + Apple Log 2 for that flat color profile that gives you maximum control in post-production (perfect for color grading 🎨)
(I missed this step, but I truly recommend getting an ND filter. Some of my clips came out a little too overexposed)
Step 4. Transfer clips to editing software (I use Premiere Pro) and convert clips to color space “Apple Log/Rec. 2020”
Step 5. Color correct/grade & add a Lut of choice.
Step 6: Export in full resolution (4224x2240)

I quit nursing and thought that was it for me. I thought I’d be working a boring 9-5 job for the rest of my life.
When I first got a camera, for some reason I thought it was so easy and anyone could it. It felt natural for me because I always enjoyed taking photos and videos of my family and friends.
So, I said why not jump into this? Thinking it was going to be easy.
It wasn’t.
I didn’t give up though, I spent over a year making free videos and learning how to edit thanks to YouTube.
It wasn’t until I made the crazy decision to move to Los Angeles. 9 months later, I opened my own media company and have been able to hire other videographers.
You will never find out what you can accomplish without giving it your all. Believing in yourself is the first step to success.
I know it sounds too good to be true, but I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Meeting Ali from has been a big blessing. It’s crazy to think how sometimes people just give you opportunities that change your life without knowing you or asking for anything in return.
At first I was a little hesitant to go on this trip because it really did sound too good to be true. 8 months prior to that trip, I was literally scrubbing toilets. I cleaned houses for a living.
I always knew that if I worked hard, one way or another it would pay off.
I just never even dreamed of something this big happening, but it happened and I did everything I possibly could to make a good first impression.

It took me over a year and a half to finally start getting paying clients.
—First, I researched the best camera within my budget ($500). Went on YouTube to learn how to use it.
—I started working on my portfolio which meant making free videos. I just needed to get my work seen. After over a year and a free video later, I got offered a full time job as a videographer. I took it.
—After having enough experience and enough clients on the side, I quit my 9-5 and opened my own media company.
—I finally had the experience and freedom to film anything I wanted. I’ve messaged a lot of ppl I’ve wanted to work with. Some have responded, some have not BUT you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take so take as many shots (dm as many people) you’d like to work with.
—As I continue to grow, I invest in better gear, equipment, editing tools, hire other great videographers/editors to help.
—All I had to do was start. It may take a year, 5 years, or 10 years to get to where you want, but if you truly want something, go for it. Dreams do come true.
