In her particular case, we used a hemostatic net and fibrin glue instead of drains — a protocol that has become standard in most of my facelifts.

Recovery timelines vary, but my general rule for most facial procedures is about 2–3 weeks to be “dinner party ready” - with the likely need for makeup, strategic hair styling and/or other general camouflage for remnant incisions/swelling/bruising.

That said, I advise avoiding surgery within three months of major events that involve close scrutiny or high-definition photography - think weddings, speaking engagements, or red carpet moments.

The neck lift was performed using a single, small incision under the chin. The buccal fat was reduced through tiny incisions inside the mouth. Of note, no incisions were used around the ears or anywhere else.

As opposed to treatments that only treat superficial fat - like liposuction - a neck lift treats the structural elements of the neck like deeper fat, muscles and glands. In patients who have felt dissatisfied with their neck contour from a younger age, these deeper structures are almost always the main culprits of displeasing neck contours.
