Just months earlier, wildfires had swept through Jasper, leaving tens of thousands of hectares of scorched forest, displacing families, and bringing the region’s lifeline, tourism, to a near standstill. Wildlife habitats were destroyed, local businesses suffered, and the community faced an uncertain recovery.
By moving forward with their wedding in Jasper, Sonya and Rahul’s decision was about more than their union. It was a way to stand with the community, gather loved ones in a place they cherished, and help breathe life back into a town still finding its way forward.
They partnered with Canadian vendors, supported local businesses, and ensured that what remained at the end of the weekend—florals, food, and beverages—was donated back to the community of Jasper. Days later, over brunch in town, they noticed their wedding flowers thoughtfully repurposed, brightening the tables of a small café. It was a quiet but powerful reminder of how their celebration continued to give back.
From a denim-on-denim Canadian tuxedo welcome night to a lakeside ceremony framed by mountains, and a canoe sendoff across the water to mark their transition into married life, every moment reflected who they are and what matters most to them: love, community, and resilience. We can’t wait to share more!
